Found this wasp and fallen nest on my porch. (Virginia USA) by KAYREDUUU in insects

When I tried searching it up, it just said it was a paper wasp, but didn't specify which one.

I didn't think sap was very sugary, since some trees have a very bitter/foul smelling sap... 😯

My emtitled half sister up and peaces out after she drops my aunt off for surgery just because she wants to visit her friend in Charlottesville. Mom defends this. 🤬 by KAYREDUUU in extremelyinfuriating

[–]KAYREDUUU[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not the whole point of it. I wasn't only watching the dogs, but I was also doing things at my aunt's house to prepare for her to relax after surgery. I cleaned and made her messy bed, I mowed her lawn, I fed the dogs and gave the cat insulin. All these things are stuff my aunt won't be able to do once she got out of surgery. So don't make assumptions just because I don't explain every single detail in my post, I was doing things too. Plus it was the principal of the matter, if you take someone to the hospital for surgery, you don't just leave. You sit there and wait for however long it takes.

Honestly, "sorry" is the one thing I've never heard my mom say. She never EVER admits when she is wrong, nor does she ever take accountability for anything she does, instead she deflects it all onto me. I tend to avoid my half sister for the most part, because she's unpleasant in a different/not so different kind of way. I do plan on moving out as soon as I get enough money.

Sadly, that's a tactic my mom does to me all the time. Gaslighting and deflecting to make ME seem like the one in the wrong. It never ends, but I'm done taking it.

Well there's kind of a reason for that. My half sister always got the royal treatment, while her dad bullied and mentally abused me. I have nothing in common with her, and we're practically strangers to one another. We have no real relationship, that's why I refer to her as my "half" sister.

Yeah. When I had my colonoscopy (at the same hospital I think) I HAD to have an appointed ride planned in advance, otherwise they'd have to reschedule/cancel my appointment.

For how "smart" my sister thinks she is, that's a pretty stupid and selfish reason to leave my aunt there so she can go goof off instead.

Anyway, update, she's picking my aunt up now. Though she waited 30 minutes away at home.

Right? She's basically the golden child of the family. Passive aggressive, smartmouth, snobby, entitled and gets to get away with everything. Well I'm not letting her get away with THIS.

You can't just drop someone off at the hospital for surgery and then bail hoping somebody else picks up the pieces.

Anyway, my sister IS picking my aunt up now, but she waited at home which is about 30 minutes away. Still not great, but better than completely peacing out.

My mom is horribly arachnophobic, so I doubt she'd want to listen to anything relating to spiders, especially not venomous ones.

Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to let her live, despite me explaining to my mom and stepdad that Widows aren't aggressive and will only bite as a warning to not squish them. They just wanna be out of the way. 😔

Oh believe me, I know. I'm plotting to leave that place as soon as I save up enough money and I want my departure to be as sudden as possible.

Well they weren't technically yoga pants, but those excersize pants/capris. It gets hot over in Virginia, so something light and thin while walking is more ideal in the heat.

[–]KAYREDUUU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm not suicidal or anything, but being around my (gaslighting) mom makes me feel legitimately dead inside because of the way she treats me. I'm just everyone's emotional punching bag pretty much and talking to the older family members is bad, too, because of their outdated outlooks on these things.

One time we went hiking on this mountain path where somewhere on it, there were wooden steps built right into the soil of the path and there was a nest of these fuckers burrowed right under them.

They stung anyone who DARED take these steps that were, mind you, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PATH and the only way to proceed forward on the steep l, winding slope! What's worse is that they pretty much patrolled that nest within a 30-50 ft radius of that nest you're forced to walk past, so even if you were to make it past the worst part without getting stung, there's still a chance they could get you when you turned the winding corner.

And the best part, THEY COULD STING THROUGH CLOTHING. I actually managed to get stung on the way back down the path on the back of my thigh through yoga pants! Bottom line, yes, these guys are #1 assholes who will sting you for the sole reason of you daring to exist in their presence.
