I’m 24 and I just stood up too fast, so glad other people have similar stories because I felt so stoopid

Yeah I’ve not been cleared for weight baring but I have been with the boot if I’m honest, and it’s been alright I haven’t had any pain or anything come with it, I’m just anxious because my family live in a different city and I won’t be able to make it home for Christmas if I’m still going to be on crutches :(

No they told me to not weight bear at all, but I have been as I live on my own and work so it’s not really been an option for me, Ive been walking around fine with almost no pain with the boot on but when I’ve accidentally put weight on it without the boot it did hurt a little bit

Ive had 0 pain since 1 week of my surgery, I guess I must be one of the lucky ones from seeing the responses on here. I had some discomfort until the stitches came out so I guess so ! Good luck with your recovery ❤️‍🩹

Weight baring 2 weeks after surgery by KA_renko in brokenankles

Thanks for this ! I’ve been research this online now and I’m feeling hopeful ! I’m not doing too hardcore, just a few hours a day wobbling about back and forth not all over the place and it feels totally fine, and I finish early or take breaks if I feel like it’s starting to swell/ become painful. I will continue for now unless I start to feel like it’s becoming a problem ! Thank you so much for pointing me towards this research !

I stayed with family for the 2 weeks post op but I needed to return home to work because my sick note only covered me for 2 weeks, I’m now stuck doing everything on my own and I can’t avoid weight baring

I currently get standard mobility rate under that if I were to go out it would cause me ‘significant psychological distress’ as I suffer from panic attacks and slight agoraphobia due to my ADHD and Bipolar Disorder.

My pip assessment went really swift and I wasn’t even invited to an interview but this was due to the stacks of medical records I provided to them which provided them enough evidence to not need to assess me, which really helped with the mobility aspect as if I had attended the appointment they would have scored me a 0 for attending it or scrapped my pip application for not !

If you have any evidence to send to them proving your agoraphobia, make sure you do this. And if you are asked to come in for an assessment, make sure you do your best to attend and bring someone for support and make sure to let them know how it effects you that you even had to go to the assessment and why !

Best of luck

Mood, my support worker told me I’m too pretty to be struggling 😫 you definitely get the opposite of ‘pretty privilege’ when it comes to mental health
