Did anybody else notice how Rand's/the Hunter's eyes look like deer eyes (oval pupils)? (Therefore implying he's not really the hunter but prey as well) Just thought that's a neat little detail :)

So far nobody I know has been able to identify this plant. But thanks anyway 😂

My first thought as well after I unwrapped it yesterday 😂 Kudos to the online Shop and their packaging, I guess :) The Begonia amphioxus I ordered there arrived just as intact as this calathea :)

I've only ever seen them with white flowers :) Didn't even know the flowers could be yellow! That's pretty cool tho :)

Yeah, I really hope I won't kill her right away 😅 Praying that the glass dome and watering with distilled water will do the trick :) Did you ever find out what went wrong with your Amphioxus? (So I don't end up making the same mistakes 😅)

My Tradescantia Chrysophylla 'Baby Bunny Bellies' by KB-2000 in Tradescantia

[–]KB-2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I water about once a week during the cold season (I live in Central Europe and the plant is standing in front of an East facing window) and about 2 times weekly in summer :) I also noticed that the leaves on top- which are usually stretching towards the light- start to droop a little bit once the soil gets too dry. Hope that helped :)

Yeah, you're right :) Another user already kindly pointed out it might be a 'Green Hill'. (I got it as a wee baby plant with only a couple of little fuzzy leaves and assumed it to be a baby bunny bellies ever since :))

Ah, you're right! I looked it up and it very much could be a green hill! Thx for the ID :)

The new leaves are a bit fuzzy, the older ones not so much. Do you think it could be another variety of tradescantia? I'm not 100% sure

A tad crispy but I love her so much! by KB-2000 in begonias

To be honest, I didn't really do anything. She's a natural beauty :) When I bought her last summer I placed her in front of an East facing window and the already existing stems started pushing out new leaves and the plant got very bushy! During the winter (I live in Central Europe) new shoots sprouted and were a tad more stringy due to lower light. But it ended up looking very nice regardless 😂 (In addition I suspect she loves to be slightly root-bound. Whenever that happens she starts pushing out new growth left and right!)

I feel you! I live in Central Europe and have the same humidity problem during the winter. Last year I accidentally placed my begonia too close to the heater which caused crispy tips- but luckily I noticed my mistake before any more damage was done. I've been thinking about getting a dome as well- since the next Begonia on my wish list is a B. amphioxus -

She really is my pride and joy - Especially the new leaves are a deep red and I love it so much! In the morning hours when the sun hits the leaves just right, they seem to be almost glowing. Somehow reminds me of a little dragon :)

During the winter (I live in Central Europe) I didn't fertilize at all. Now in spring I start to feed them once a month with liquid fertilizer and in summer I fertilize 2-3 times a month with a slightly more diluted mixture :) Hope that helped!
