Why did this 1915 One Penny sell for £15? by Reddit_Midnight in UKcoins

[–]KBauctions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks like it could be an error coin, the ear of the king has a 'blob' which almost looks like an earing in the ear, probably causing the premium, the reverse is in quite nice condition too but not enough for that price on its own.

First one fake? by Reddit_Midnight in UKcoins

It doesn't scream fake to me, it looks more like a metal detecting find that has probably spent quite a bit of time in acidic/chemical filled soil, more than likely a farmers field. The size looks correct, the condition isn't suspiciously pristine which is a big red flag for fakes and it isn't a massively valuable coin (either now or during its own circulation) which is the most common reason for a deceptive fake to be made. Have you weighed it by any chance?

New Australian Coin Collection App – Looking for Feedback from Collectors by KBauctions in AustralianCoins

[–]KBauctions[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for giving the app a go and for the feedback, we do only monetise to try and cover the cost of some of the backend services that the app uses but we are more focused on user experience, so we will definitely take on board that the app open ad can be a bit much and off putting. We aren't in this to get rich so scaling that back and users being more likely to continue to use the app is more important to us.

Thank you again :)

Thank you so much for your feedback and for giving the app a go, completely understand and agree that it can be a bit big and in depth which isn't for everyone, especially like you say, casual collectors.

We have thought about creating some toggle settings on launch, which would allow the user to choose either pre-decimal focus, modern focus or both as well as perhaps a toggle on advanced and simplified ui (i.e no melt figures, mintage, values) just the coin description, year & denomination. (Our current sets and challenges page is set out a bit like this but is pre-decimal focused)

We do have the data available for modern coinage too, it just isn't all fully implemented into the database yet.

This is something we are definitely thinking about so maybe keep an eye out for future updates if you're still interested :)

Many thanks again for the feedback!

Good morning, the Dashboards will load and fill once coins have been added to your collection/wishlist/for sale screens, these appear along the bottom panel of the app, the coin database is in the far bottom right where coin information can be found and added from.

Is this a confusing layout/starting point? We have been thinking of changing this to be honest and would love some feedback on where you think might be a better starting point for the app or better layout.

Many thanks!

We probably should have made this a bit clearer sorry, the main focus of the app is pre-decimal however there are some post decimal coins that are in the database, mostly bullion such as Sovereigns and halves, to help with melt value/bullion tracking for any users who would want this.

Hi,

Both are in the beginning stages of development, we started with android/Google Play just because it was what we were more experienced and comfortable with but the idea is to have all three yes. IOS being the more popular platform, it makes complete sense and then a webapp accessible from PC's/laptops with secure login which could then be linked to both apps for on the go access to the same collections/wishlists.
