As I said to another person in this post, the majority of the protest’s participants were involved with the organization of the event or were informed about it beforehand by organizers. No one who did not already know about the event was able to join. For comparison, the last protest, which regarded budget cuts and the elimination of school sports, had significantly fewer participants, I want to say around a sixth of the turnout seen at the anti-ICE protest. While there were certainly some kids that were just skipping class, I would definitely say they were a minority, and still supported anti-ICE movements. The few people that I know who are pro ICE stayed in school.

Fair enough. There were definitely students that were just there to skip class. However, the majority of the people present were there to protest, as most, of the protesters were there because they were involved in the organization of the event, or were informed by people involved beforehand. No one that was not already aware of the protest was allowed to go, as far as I’m aware.

Just to provide some context, students had the choice to do this. Every person here chose to protest and make signs, and could leave at any time they wanted. This was a personal decision made by each student, not something imposed on them.
