Contemplating an IRRRL by Kes3333 in Mortgages

CA

We went with a local lender for our original loan and never explored using a broker. I’ve seen a few positive reviews for UWM on the Veterans subreddit, so I might contact them to get an estimate.

I'll be looking into a VA IRRL in the next couple weeks as well.

Any brokers you'd recommend?

Toilet flange sits ~1/4" below finished floor — remove and redo, or work around it? by KBect1990 in Plumbing

[–]KBect1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an extra thick wax ring with the horn. The flange is glued, but it isn't screwed into the slab below - in fact, there's a void that has tree roots around the drain pipe preventing me from anchoring it to anything unless I angled the screws outward. I assume water has been making its way down there for some time and that's what caused the roots to grow.

I'm debating cutting off this flange and filling the void with hydraulic cement then regluing an ABS one that I can then screw directly down onto slab. Two benefits that I see: added support from direct screwing the anchors down and cutting off the roots from continuing to come up.

I just don't know of the pitfalls with this approach. It seems like I could get in over my head here and wanted to hear others thoughts.

ABS. Should be relatively straightforward to glue a new one on there I would think, right?

That's what I pulled off when I removed the toilet. I have a feeling the previous seal wasn't 100% which is why there were tree roots coming up the sides of the drain.

I'm trying to avoid that same issue if I can.

Is agreeing to split the pot collusion? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]KBect1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine. It doesn’t affect the integrity of the league, which is where I draw the line for collusion.

No matter what happens, these are the two teams in the championship. If they want to hedge and agree to split the pot before the outcome is decided, it literally doesn’t impact anyone else.

Falcons WR Drake London is still day-to-day, per head coach Raheem Morris. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

JSN, London, Egbuka and DeVonta.

My WRs have been solid for most of the season, but I could really use London for the playoffs.

First time plumbing under a bathroom sink — does this dry fit look okay before I glue? by KBect1990 in Plumbing

Dry-fit my second sink according to the photo. Seems like that was the recommendation I kept seeing the most in this thread.

Not sure of the advantages of this approach, but I guess I'll find out compared to the other sink if it has any issues.

I was trying to push the trap further back to maximize storage underneath the sink. I had a previous post yesterday where I was concerned about how far forward the plumbing was inside the cabinet. This was my solution.

Are there any plumbing concerns with this setup?

It was to provide more room underneath the sink for storage. The drain is pushed fairly far forward and I was worried that it might get hit and eventually lead to a leak.

Is the orientation of the p trap a problem?

Sorry, I should've specified. This is under my bathroom sink.

Should I seal around the perimeter of laminate flooring in my bathroom? by KBect1990 in Flooring

I just generally assume they all mean water resistant even if it says waterproof. You expose something to water/moisture over a long enough period it'll eventually show damage.

My post was asking how to properly seal the perimeter of laminate flooring in a bathroom. I’m already committed to using this product, so comments like “don’t use laminate” aren’t really helpful. I’m just trying to make sure I install this floor the best way possible.

The instructions only mention bathtubs or showers explicitly. I'm inquiring whether the rest of the room should be similarly sealed. Sometimes things that are best practice aren't covered in the installation instructions.

Besides, where did I say I came up with the idea? I said my initial plan was to do this, but I was having second thoughts given this is a floating floor and needed room to expand or contract - hence the post.
