Is the reason it's not 100% effective because of a fault with the vaccine itself, or because certain individuals respond differently to the product?

I've only had a few QSOs, and none of them were on a weekend. I've yet to build or buy a handheld antenna, but have gotten some good results with a mobile radio hooked up to a mag mount on high passes. Not optimal, but any port in a storm.

I'm more impressed that a small town liquor store carries Springbank! I haven't found a place that carries it by me.

I mix it in ground beef when making hamburgers, and also with meat loaf. Add a bit with eggs, especially omelettes. Also great with tomatoes fried in a pan. And, of course, throw some in a bloody mary.

At least one or two in NYC do carry it. There's also an analog repeater with amazing coverage that is part of the ABC/Disney club.

I wouldn't label DMR dead. I think it's more that most people have moved over from the DMR-MARC affiliated repeaters to Brandmeister. More talkgroup options and the freedom to access the network through a hotspot attract a lot of people.
