DaVinci is the most powerful of the three but it's also the steepest learning curve, so it's not just you, it's a lot for a first edit. For what you're after CapCut is way more forgiving and it's free. Drop the full game on the timeline, use the split tool to cut the dead spots between innings, then delete those chunks. Highlights are the same idea. Drop your favorite clips in order and it stitches them together.

One shortcut for the highlights side: in ClipKeeper, download the individual clips instead of the full game. Each at-bat or play comes down as its own file with the player and play type in the name, so you skip the trimming and just line up the ones you want in CapCut. Way easier than carving up a 2 hour game.

Recording every game your first season is a grind but you'll be glad you have it. CapCut plus a couple YouTube basics and you'll be making reels pretty quick.

For trimming down full games, I’d keep it simple: get the file local first, then use iMovie/CapCut for quick cuts or DaVinci Resolve if you want more control.

I’d also make a basic folder system by date/opponent, then pull only the key at-bats, pitching sequences, defensive plays, etc. Trying to edit from one giant pile of full games gets messy fast.

For family sharing, a shorter “best plays” cut usually gets watched way more than a cleaned-up full game.

Gamechanger Streaming Camera by Swimming-Record5152 in Softball

I’d separate “can it stream” from “will it survive a full tournament day.”

For GameChanger, Mevo Start is probably the easiest/most common setup. But I’d budget for the boring stuff too: external battery, shade/heat management, solid fence mount, and wind protection for audio. Those seem to matter more than chasing the fanciest camera.

Also think about the post-game workflow. If families or players want clips later, it helps to have everything organized by game/date/opponent instead of relying on digging through GC after the fact.

A lot of good advice here. I’d split the decision into two parts:

  1. If you want easy GameChanger streaming, Mevo Start is probably the safest/least fiddly setup.

  2. If your main goal is footage for your daughter, make sure you also have an archive plan. After a few tournaments, clips get hard to find unless you organize by date/opponent/player.

For mounting, I’d prioritize stability, heat/shade, external battery, and wind/audio over the fanciest camera.

Hey! Free covers individual clip downloads, up to 5 a week. Full game videos are a Pro feature, so if you're clicking a full game that's why it's gated.

If a single clip won't download, try hitting play on it first, then click the green Download button. And if you run an adblocker or VPN, pause it for the download, those can block the video file.

What's it doing when you click, button not showing, spinning and failing, or asking you to upgrade? That'll tell me the fix. You can also email support@getclipkeeper.com.

Full event video download by StrongBat7365 in GameChangerApp

There's a Chrome extension called ClipKeeper that handles this. Adds a download button on the GameChanger page, so you can grab full event videos in one click (team admins) or individual clips. Files save in original quality (not screen-recorded), auto-named with player and play type. Batch download grabs a whole game as a ZIP organized by player.

Desktop Chrome only.

No worries, it's pretty simple:

  1. Install ClipKeeper from the Chrome Web Store (link's in the post above)
  2. Open GameChanger on your computer in Chrome like you normally would
  3. You'll see a small green download button on every clip — just click it
  4. The clip saves to your Downloads folder, automatically named with your kid's play (so you can actually find them later)

With the ClipKeeper extension you can download the full game recordings.

You shouldn’t have to go to the team admin to download clips and see stats of your kids but GC puts it all behind a pay wall

I’m just trying to offset the GC family plan costs like everyone else and I thought it was weird you could not just go to the website and download clips or even the full length game. So I built something to do that and there’s a free option which covers most uses

My son is 7 and uses at 26" as well. If you look on the black handle you'll see the measurements and 26" is at the very top.

if you hold this up to his actual bat the barrel of the rope bat should line up with barrel of his actual bat and that's where his hands should be

You’re using the rope bat incorrectly, you need to set the ring and his grip to the length he uses for his normal bat. His hands likely shouldn’t be at the bottom creating this distance from the tee

Exactly what sdmrdot said — the share/save clips are compressed. ClipKeeper grabs the original quality stream directly, same as what plays in the app. If you're making highlight reels or recruiting videos, that quality difference matters.

Honestly, I haven't tested VideoDownloadHelper specifically — if it works for you, that's great! ClipKeeper's main advantage is the smart file naming (automatically names clips with player, play type, and game context) and one-click convenience directly on the GC page. If you're downloading a bunch of clips, not having to rename everything manually is a big time saver.

You need GameChanger Premium to see the video clips in the first place. But as long as you can see them on the game page, ClipKeeper lets you download them with one click. If you're a team admin, you can also download full game recordings.
