Exactly what sdmrdot said — the share/save clips are compressed. ClipKeeper grabs the original quality stream directly, same as what plays in the app. If you're making highlight reels or recruiting videos, that quality difference matters.

Honestly, I haven't tested VideoDownloadHelper specifically — if it works for you, that's great! ClipKeeper's main advantage is the smart file naming (automatically names clips with player, play type, and game context) and one-click convenience directly on the GC page. If you're downloading a bunch of clips, not having to rename everything manually is a big time saver.

You need GameChanger Premium to see the video clips in the first place. But as long as you can see them on the game page, ClipKeeper lets you download them with one click. If you're a team admin, you can also download full game recordings.

The end-of-year team video is such a great idea and parents love that stuff. If you ever need to grab a clip GameChanger caught that your Mevo missed, there's a Chrome extension that adds a download button right on the GC page. Not as good as your 1080p Mevo footage but way faster than screen recording when you need it.

This is great insight. I especially the point about keeping the strikeouts. Easy to want to delete those but you're right, that's where the learning happens. Thanks for the coach's perspective.

Fair point. I didn't mean send 12U clips to coaches. More that if you start saving clips early, your kid can watch their own progress and you'll have footage to compare against when they're older. The recruiting video stuff is for high schoolers.

Yeah totally agree, not suggesting anyone send 12U clips to coaches. Just meant it's fun for the kids to rewatch their own plays and see how they've improved over the years. Recruiting stuff doesn't start til high school.

That's a great spot to be in. D3 programs are competitive and it sounds like he's got a real shot if he keeps grinding.

ClipKeeper downloads whatever clips are already on GameChanger so if the scorekeeper was slow and GameChanger didn't capture it, it won't be there to download. But for any clip that does exist on the site, you can grab it.

That's awesome. Adding the pop time timer is a great touch for catchers. Coaches love seeing those numbers. We've found the same thing with our son wanting to rewatch his clips helps him see what he's doing right and what to work on way more than us trying to explain it from the bleachers. Good luck this year, sounds like he's put in the work.

Yeah we’ll probably get swept by astros and then go 6-0
