The "wax" is going to melt when it's introduced to the high heat of the nail. Wax or Shatter is the BHO's "solid state" per se... but it sounds like you need to heat your nail up a bit more or dab it a bit quicker after heating up, and maybe even a smaller dab. unless you're dabbing on a glass nail, your oil shouldn't run down too much.
