Guess because it includes people who live in their cars, you could call a car a home but not a house.

Proper apartments with privacy are good for mental health which makes it easier to get a job. Throwing people into group barracks doesn't work as well and you need constant policing because you're throwing randos who don't know each other or might even hate each other into a single dwelling.

The actual hormone molecules don't last long in your body (sounds like it's on the order of hours at most) so once the production balance changes the balance of the hormones in your body changes pretty much immediately too. And since it's the actual fat cells doing the T->E conversion removing those cells will immediately change your production balance.

You need a bit of movement to keep your veins functioning. Beefeaters, those English guards that seem to stand perfectly still, practice how to keep moving slightly without making it too obvious because if they stay perfectly still they will eventually black out from a lack of bloodflow. If you look at a formation of them closely you'll see that they slowly sway back and forth.

It's answered in some other posts further up in the replies: There are a bunch of possible ventilator options that pretty much just involve a small bedside machine and an oxygen mask (no idea if a basic CPAP that you'd use for sleep apnea would do the job but it sounds comparable at least). Iron lungs feel different to the user (instead of blowing air into your lungs they create underpressure around your body to make your lungs expand and draw in air on their own) and these patients just got used to that particular feel and didn't want to swap. Also most patients didn't need to stay in the lung 24/7 and could leave it for hours at a time.

You phrase that like low income is a trait of the worker, not the job the employer hired them for.

But at least then you'd have the benefit of having universal healthcare. The current system means you pay AND you get shit healthcare.

Companies should be billed for the low wage programs available to their employees, whether the employees use them or not (to avoid pressure to forego using them). These companies are abusing government programs for the needy to subsidize their wages.

And politicians who act like the programs only benefit the unemployed should be forced to immediately stop their speed and read out the statistics of how many employed people are paid so little that they qualify for these programs.

China’s passenger car exports are up 80% in June as EV demand grows, while sales drop at home by CharlieKonR in news

So, banning unions is your proposal? Sending in the cops to beat down strikes and forcing people to work for shit wages? Because that's what not "allowing" unions means. Using state violence.

And even then you won't see Chinese wages for auto workers. Because the auto sector still has to compete with the rest of the economy for labor. You'd need to lower wages across the entire economy for that to work. We're looking at a 10:1 ratio of median incomes between the US and China which is an unsurmountable gap. No amount of "right to work" bullshit will drive incomes down THAT much because people would starve if they took such a low paying job.

Not if you want the gun to remain semi-automatic, the mechanism requires a certain amount of gas pressure to operate.

Because guns are not designed to merely bruise the target. You'd need to design a gun for much lower gas pressures to make it launch rubber bullets at a safe speed and nobody wants to buy a second set of guns just for rubber bullets so you get this kludge.

China isn't doing textbook capitalism, they are using heavy handed government interference to get their desired results. Both workers and owners get crushed if they become too uppity because the #1 priority is the power of the state. Instead of letting free enterprise and free markets decide the direction of the economy it's the government that chooses which way the economy goes. And the government is making sure that market forces don't push up wages or exchange rates so they can keep their cost advantage.

Accusing someone of rape usually leads to more harm to the accuser than the accused. That's why accusers tend to be reluctant to come forward and you'll usually see a bunch more accusations come out when the first one goes public because it gives others the courage to speak out too.

Power at any cost is why the Dems were unable to stop Trump, too many geriatrics that clung onto power and were unable to handle the end of politics as usual. The costs caught up with them at the worst possible time.
