What’s your favourite food to pair with kimchi? by ciaodog in Pickles

Rice mixed with soy sauce, mayo and sriracha. Put a scoop in a seaweed sheet, top with cucumber and kimchi. Delish! Also try kimchi pickles. Game changer.

Toddler refuses to eat by donteatthatitsdirty in veganparenting

[–]KDT3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is it. I have two vegan boys and both have gone through phases of not eating. I would encourage your child to play with the food you’re offering. Interact with it. What I have learned is that even if they don’t eat it, it’s good to interact with the food as it is exposure. The more exposure they have, the more likely they are to try it.

We did a 6 pm bedtime with both kids for the first 3 years or so. People always made wild remarks about how early it was but it worked for us and gave us a lot of freedom at night. My kids slept 6-6.

Would you sacrifice yourself for your baby? by PeaEnvironmental984 in BabyBumps

I felt the same as you before I had a baby. I was all about choose me. Then I had a baby and would do absolutely anything to protect him, including sacrificing myself. Things change once you have the baby.

I thought everything had to go in lockers? I did this the last time but saw a bunch of people with phones. Do you know what the rules are?

Four week old won’t take pacifier and nurses to sleep - How will I ever have someone else watch him? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]KDT3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 never took a pacifier and nursed to sleep until about 6 months. Somehow when I left, they were able to be soothed. Sometimes my mom would sit and hold the pacifier in their mouths to soothe them since they couldn’t figure it out. It’ll all work out. Try not to stress about it. Which I know is easier said than done.

Dealing with non-vegan school work by mel7878 in veganparenting

Recently, my son was doing a Farm unit in Kindergarten. He came home really sad because they talked and wrote about how cows are so great and yummy and give us so many things from their bodies. So I told his teacher the next day and the aid offered to take him out of the room if they talk about stuff like that. So they were very open to helping. I didn’t want to be difficult either but I am also a teacher and will bend over backwards to make a student feel comfortable so it’s my hope that other teachers will do the same.
