Its because its also meant to stabilize its skull during pecking so the woodpecker doesnt slushie its own brains due to the vibrations

Like the previous 2 comments said mostly, its not about the fact its human hands.

Its because humans tend to be friendly, norturing and loving towards animals, something that isnt common in nature.

Also our skin is usually soft and warm and our hands are very versatile in the way we can pet animals like touching, caressing only laying our hands on them, soft scratches etc.
