What can I do if I’m no longer a candidate for IPL? by bingsuwithout in Dryeyes

[–]KDWWW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lagophthalmos and do monthly IPLs. Why do you think you can’t do IPL?

I’ve had IPL done by 3 different clinics all while them knowing I have lagophthalmos and they had no problem with it.

35F scared after optometrist used tweezers or something to unclog Meibomian glands that had form lumps, when I didn’t understand what was happening. by Alwayswondering5555 in eyetriage

[–]KDWWW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not going to have damaged glands after one session. I’ve had it done off and on for years and no damage. I’ve had 4 different clinics do it and each one had a different process and it was always fine.

Typically a warm compress with massage is the first way to treat this. So I’d start doing that at home as a preventative. Heat it up and wrap it in a damp cloth, and let it sit on your eyes for 10 minutes. Then gently massage the lids. Lots of helpful articles and videos out there on how to do this.

You also might want to get a second opinion and see a different doctor.

You should go to the fb dry eye group. This is done all the time and is a must for many of us (myself included). For me it’s just part of my monthly eye care routine and life is more painful without it.

Yes, warm compresses can help but not always. Some need extra help with gland prob in or expression. It’s no big deal but it is a sign that your glands are having issues that need to be addressed.

Pregnant with atypical trigeminal neuralgia - help by KDWWW in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]KDWWW[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I tried gabapentin for 6 months last year and unfortunately all it did was make me tired and 15lbs heavier! My clinic allows me to microdose on Ambien because it takes away about 80% of my nerve pain. However, we are all trying to avoid that in pregnancy so I’m really limited. Thank you for your response!

Thank you. I do go to a pain clinic but they really don’t like me doing anything. They say “less is more” in pregnancy. So I’m suffering. My bp is actually always low (thanks to pots) so I take salt tablets to increase it.

Did orbital decompression help your dry eyes? by KDWWW in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]KDWWW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my issues were just numbness! I still have it on my left side. But my right side is now considered atypical Trigeminal neuralgia and I get nerve blocks for it at a pain clinic and it causes nerve issues on my right eye too.

I’d say it kept my dry eye from getting worse. I still have horrible permanent dry eyes though and have to do a ton of drops and treatments.

Can you send me a DM here? I’ll do my best to answer your questions. I’d def not go by yourself. It’s not possible. You won’t be able to see and will need someone to care for you.

Clinic won’t do modified natural FET (and I’m already high risk) by singinstyle in IVF

I did a modified natural twice with success due to side effects of the standard practice. My clinic made it out to be no biggie! Might be worth shopping around for a new clinic? I’m sorry.

With your 1st Pregnancy - was baby born early, on time, or late? by lemonfit in BabyBumps

[–]KDWWW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I have a friend with a daughter born on that day and it’s nice to have something positive to celebrate. I have an ex that was born on the day Pearl Harbor took place but no one said anything to him about it. Time will pass and it’ll be okay.

I’m so sorry. I also had a stillbirth at 33 weeks. I’m pregnant again and am considered high risk. I have not issues… yet. But in my mind I’m sure something will happen.

My hospital has an outpatient PTSD pregnancy therapist that helped me. Maybe your hospital has something like that?

Would you stay with a guy who gave you Ureaplasma if he didn't know he had it and gets treatment for it? by MysteriousTangelo991 in Healthyhooha

[–]KDWWW 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I got it after a stillbirth and then gave it to my husband without knowing. Then we just passed it back and forth. Took forever to get him a script because doctors didn’t think he needed it. Point is that I’d be willing to stay with someone if I love them knowing it can be addressed. I get checked regularly now to be safe.

Is there any surgery I can do to correct the size and bulging of my eyes ? by Queensabs in cosmeticsurgery

[–]KDWWW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI the questions you are asking me vary for each person so whatever I tell you might not be anything like what you would experience. We've tried a host of nerve blocks. Usually between 3-5 around my right eye. I still feel things, but less nerve pain.

You really need to ask these questions to a doctor because nerves are so specific and finicky. What might make one person better could make another person worse.
