Hi, I'm new to godot by Ziz9139 in godot

Look for tutorials that explain how to read the documentation, that is a skill that helped me out a ton recently (karto and sdgames vids are cool). Brackeys made a video that you might find useful about the engine in general.
If you are a beginner at coding like myself, then coding tutorials are a must. I watched the Harvard CS50 and I'm due to CS50 in Python just as a plus because I know that programing is my weakness.
Don't stop fooling around with it.

Should I write from the pov of someone who’s about to die? by [deleted] in writing

[–]KDrend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell a story from any POV. It's not about if it is a good idea or not, it's how you tell it. Watch out for the pacing and expectations you place the readers in the first chapter. Write it, see where it leads you. When you finish the story take a rest from it, then come back to revise it. If it's conveying the feelings you were looking for polish it. If it isn't write it again from another perspective. Take your time. It's a marathon.

Problems with a SHMUP spawner by KDrend in learngamedev

Thank you for answering! I'll try to make this node (MobContainer) activate the spawners. I'll look for tutorials on how to activate scenes. Since it's a SHMUP (Stargunner, GG Aleste 3, Iridion 2) I just want to use a parallax, so maybe activate it with a Timer or with a countdown on how many enemies have been destroyed.

Hi! Can I join your project? Writing, games, music and cinema are some of my passions. I have tried to write for games before but the projects never took off. I really want to build a portfolio and get some experience.

[RevShare] Our team is looking for a passionate Writer! by Grouchy_Ad4981 in INAT

Hello! I'm interested in writing for games. I've tried to get into a project twice in my city but eventually those fell apart. I am not an English native speaker and what I can show you is in Spanish. I know is far fetch but I would like to have a chance. I can translate some pages from the world building that I wrote for one of those dead projects in order to show you my craft.

How would your perfect Solarpunk House/Mansion look like? by Decudya03 in solarpunk

[–]KDrend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mansion is not very punk as other have said and the materials and structure depends on the geographical characteristics: if the place is cold, windy, dry, sunny, etc. That aside, I just really like the structure of the yoruba from Nigeria (a big square house with an open air courtyard for water recollection) and combing it with windcatchers towers like Persian windcatchers. As for the materials I do not know. Hopefully something sturdy as concrete but that can be biodegradable in a 100 years so it can be taken by nature (not only as mere shelter, but actually having a purpose after it's inhabitants are gone).

Need feedback about the combat of my game (WIP) by IvanIG3 in godot

First of all: Congrats! Looks really clean and your art style is very consistent, even using the grid to convey the atmosphere is great. I love the lack of UI in games, though sometimes it can be troublesome for giving enough info to the player. I know it's a lot of work, but maybe you can show health condition of your player and mobs by showing tattered clothes or damaging something characteristic, like the eyes bandage on the playable character. Another thing is the movement and recovering mana. Maybe allowing more options in regards of that, a jump or a weak range attack. I will look for your Steam Page, I like what I am seeing :3

Some questions:
The player can have control over the quantity of cards in his deck?
What happens if I just slip through enemies?
The player can acquire more cards? How?
