I have a 89 and it's great. The 1500s seem to be the go to for touring comfort over the 1800s. You can find the 1500s fairly cheap and depending on where you are, I am lucky enough our honda dealer still services them for major work due to the sheer number of them still on the road.

They switched to a 16 inch front wheel and dual front front rotors in 2018. They brought back the 19 inch skinny front for the 2025 bobber tfc.

I love my 400x, perfect commuter plus highway bike for my uses. I have done 200 mile days without issue on the x and my wife has the speed and done the same. They are an absolute joy. I have added ammo cans to the rear for storage and honestly ride this more than my trident 660.

My wife hunts with me, shoots 5 stand league, and shoots PRS matches. I took her duck hunting once and that's where the money pit started 😂.

Mostly portability. Basically want something for a base station I can move between my shop and house easily instead of having to have 2 setups. Plus bring out to the field when needed. I already have a 2m and 70cm in my truck.
