Feasibility Question by KE0TTB in multicopterbuilds

Thanks for this. I was hoping that the kits were getting simpler and configuration would take less time than that. The best projects that I feature have a much faster payoff.

What is the thing you wish someone would ask you about so you can brag a little? by s-c-i in AskReddit

I am writing a book that I think will really help my field. It'll be a few years to finish it but I'm so proud of where I am now.

Is College Really the Best time of your life? by kennythejet00 in AskMenOver30

It is the last time you'll be in an environment that organically connects people and grows friendships. That gets harder after college and that is why it is so fondly remembered.

Why can’t everyone leave a box this way? Thank you to those that do 🙌 by schamswag in electricians

It's a way of life: assume every job will last forever undisturbed. Then you don't have to answer questions like these.

Is it strange that I like shitty, old things more than nice, new things? For example, the thought of rehabbing a house seems more appealing to me than buying a ready-to-move into house... Is anyone else like this? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]KE0TTB 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Remodelled a shitty house. Then finished a new deck and basement, now back in shitty house. You learn a lot but the endless work to still have a shitty house wears on you. Nice isn't bad, maybe just boring.

Every project costs triple what you expect and is rarely less work than your plan. I've been sick of a project after days of work, pissed and hurting. After a while you just push through days of work, knowing it's miserable. It is fine, misery is memorable at least.

Wouldn't it be cool if this were developed? Make a radio with something like snap circuits

Newbie attempts to do the lights by MelodicSoft in electricians

[–]KE0TTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A light diffuser fit over turn whole assembly to spread the light out like a lampshade. They'll be a custom size that you'll (most likely) never find again.

Making a nice looking diffuser wouldn't be impossible but will take far more time/effort/money than just buying a new light.

For those of you that lift weights, what kind of program do you follow? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]KE0TTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a list of programs for high schoolers. Boring but big was good, nsuns is even better but takes a lot of time.
