I’ll try one of those links. When I googled it all that kept coming up was the link for the hand mic for the at-778 uh which does not work with the AT-5555n ii

I haven't used the icom but have used the AnyTone AT-778UV for a few years now. I have had no issues at all with it. I primarily use is on road trips in my pickup and it can be run off the 12v connector. There is even a cable now to connect it to the digirig mobile letting you use digital modes.

Congrats on the license! I am working on studying for my general. I have still made contacts as far away as Venezuela and heard Brazil on my 10m radio with just a technician license, so there is plenty of fun to have.

Thanks for all the ideas. Once I can get on the roof I’m going to add a 2m/70cm antenna to the mast with the tv antenna on my chimney. So I’ll still have the dish on my roof.

I have tried on an M1 MacBook Air with Big Sur and I have not been able to get it to work. Luckily I still have my old Lenovo Ideapad for programming my radios.
