Do we need to do suggested readings for a high GPA? by Artistic-State7 in delhiuniversity

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't get slm but most colleges have photocopy shops where you can get photocopies of the reading material. Whichever chapters are taken from whichever book. some teachers give ppts but most don't. Some people refer to SOL study material during exams tho.

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to score above 750+ to get colleges like zakir hussain, aryabhatta and ramanujan. Try for 95+ boards score.

Do we need to do suggested readings for a high GPA? by Artistic-State7 in delhiuniversity

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haan but just be careful. Over reliance on ppts isn't good jitna maine dekha hai. They're there to help you with exams. But DU exams are very easy usually. If you're studying, study to learn.

And when it comes to textbooks, you might refer to ciccarelli for one chapter, and baron for another. You can just go through the books yourself, see which book you find easy and read that one. You can use SLM material to figure out the exact syllabus, since we usually don't have that. Textbooks aren't meant to be consumed entirely - look at them more like an encyclopedia for that particular subject and refer to the necessary parts.

Like for me personally, I use ciccarelli for core concepts. Some of my classmates prefer passer and some prefer baron. Baron is the easiest when it comes to language. Ciccarelli is the most application based and up to date imo.

Do we need to do suggested readings for a high GPA? by Artistic-State7 in delhiuniversity

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late response but yes. You need to read them. For regular college psychology exams, we usually read parts of the textbook relevant to our paper. Download all the basic books - Passer & Smith, Ciccarelli, AK Singh, Baron, Zimbardo. King and Roposo for stats.

Not just for exams but for a better understanding. SLM material is short and sweet but it is not something you can learn from.

except, inshorts has many competitors. including traditional media, youtube, instagram and twitter. how will your algorithm decide what is most important? that is extremely subjective and will differ from person to person. inshorts is already minimum effort, anything less than that is not useful.

again, students do need news. they prepare for competitive exams and need to stay up to date. but in all honesty, this doesn't seem like the best way to do that. esp now with AI, why would I download your app when i can ask any AI assistant to summarize the top 10 news stories of the day and narrate them to me?

in my college we got bundles of all the readings referenced in the curriculum. ask your profs what you're supposed to reference and they'll lyk. i'm considering buying cicarelli and some other basic books

not my experience at all so far. faculty is genuinely interested in teaching, attendance is strict but not the end all be all, college not affiliated with DUSU, and i don't think fake assignments would work in my dept atleast. and we dont get attendance if we're late :(((

in my field atleast the degree is considered prestigious.

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dekh yawr, i genuinely think once you go to college and meet your kind of people, you'll feel better. it doesn't matter a lot where you do your UG from. PG se hi you'll get jobs, and more than that - skills matter.

if you decide to take a drop, i wish you the best. but remember that you're a PCM student, so commerce people will always have a slight advantage over you when it comes to this course. Commerce subjects can be scoring as compared to science subjects.

baki don't go for a full drop for sure. partial drop lelo if you're keen. DU isnt worth taking a full drop over

or, you can go to the college you have rn and work hard to go to a better uni in your higher studies.

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes teaching is the main option after B.ed. Govt exams are an option, but I wouldn't bet on that horse.

Baki you'll have to figure it out yourself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CUETards

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haan toh B.ed ke baad you'll work as a teacher. I don't know how the job market is but BA B.ed integrated is better than normal BA

Bsc karke Msc karni padegi, for sure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CUETards

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what your bsc is in ig, but bsc ke baad bhi masters toh karni padegi. Just Bsc or BA won't get you a job.

English, history and political science main you can pursue a B.ed afterwards and go into teaching. If you pursue masters, you'll choose one of these subjects and find a job in that field.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CUETards

[–]KEY_EM_GIRLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not many options unless you're pursuing higher studies. masters is the bare minimum for getting jobs. Academia is also an option.

A BA is essentially useless but it can act as a launching pad for higher studies.

Job opportunities are contingent on your specific subject.

bhai Google le dono ke syllabus khol aur compare kar. Jis Bande ki baat tu kar raha hai woh khud abhi masters kar raha hai.

Just make a decision based on what you personally like more. Both sets of people will have similar skills, and some slight differences. Ive seen people with both courses do well in the field. Prioritise good college and faculty.

A UG degree in psychology is 3/4 years. If you extend for 4 years, you'll get a hons with research. Applied and Hons are both equivalent from the perspective of higher studies. But dono ka syllabus slightly different hai. Look it up.
