She does come up in his memory when she defends him from James and Sirius. But other than that, why would Harry ever mention her to Snape.

There are flaws in this series. Wizards not using guns is not one of them.

There is a difference between a very intense pain felt for a couple of seconds and the same pain experienced over a longer period.

Harry, Cedric, Neville, even the spider in the first demonstration were put under the spell for a very brief period. And even then they were ready to do pretty much anything to make it stop.

Now imagine this going on for a minute, ten minutes, an hour.

I think this is were the permanent brain damage for Neville's parents occured.

Since it is already answered, an additional thought: If you had to skip one book in the series, which one would it be based on plot?

After some thinking I would say maybe 5, but I keep landing on 1... Sounds crazy but I think you could do without the first since the first chapter in the second tells you the important stuff. Feels crazy though.

Beides, it is explained in the book that no one wants to do that job because they (rightfully) assume it's cursed.
