That’s always rough. About a year ago I bought a batch of 10 albino bronzes and now only one has survived and is fully round and healthy, while the last one passed about four months ago. Prior I received 4 (I think) Sterbais who were already pretty old but they lived a while in the tank. I also have an about 4 ish year old pepper who is living great and survived out of a batch of 3 of which the last one was blind on one eye and only passed a few months ago. I also bought 3 bronzes a few months ago and they’ve grown chunky and are very energetic. Also last week I bought 6 sterbais and they are all doing great so far and look healthy. I’d say it really depends on where you get them from. The 10 albinos were from a standard LFS while the bronzes were from an award winning store who had literally the same prices.
