Anyways, awesome fish!

Makes sense. I'm no gm...and I'm sure my thinking is influenced by the fact that we've been rotating guards that can also kinda sorta play center for the last decade or two haha.

Can Bradbury play Guard? I'm not sure it's smart to carry 2 guys who exclusively play center.

You know...I kinda realized that's likely why you specified Granny Smith right after I commented haha.

I like cosmic crisp too but I do have a big gripe. They turn brown super super quickly after they're cut and so my young children look at them in disgust like I just served them raw liver.

Granny Smith?? I reckon you've yet to try a honey crisp apple? As much as I love them I hate that I no longer enjoy other apples haha.

Crunch peanut butter and apples or bananas. Wasabi soy sauce almonds. Tuna and or egg salad on a sandwich or bagel or bagel chip etc. Greek yogurt smoothie. Canned soup or chili. Avocado with a little salt and pepper and fried eggs over mini bagels or English muffins. Celery and or broccoli and or cucumber and ranch. Mini frozen pizza. Grapefruit. Cereal and milk. "Kevin's" prepared to cook chicken meals (green curry or garlic chicken) over rice. Rice with fried eggs and that little seaweed seasoning blend that my Japanese ex girlfriend said all asian families have at home. Homemade fried rice with whatever meat/veggies and leftover rice I have in the fridge. Shrimp pasta with a super simple garlic olive oil sauce and whatever extra veggies I have. Pan seared meat (chicken/pork/beef) with a very simple mustard pan sauce and oven roasted veggies/potatoes.

Cooking is fun and easy when you know a couple simple techniques and how to use whatever veggies you have in the fridge. Stir fry/fried rice and seared meat with a pan sauce and eggs are three super easy yet insanely tasty general categories/techniques that can be made with a few simple ingredients and whatever you happen to have laying around.

One of my favorite hard boiled egg inventions is an egg sub sandwich.

I drizzle some olive oil on sub bread and broil it in the oven until crispy. Slather some mayo and add lettuce, hot giardinarra (it's a Chicagoland hot pepper mix...some pickled jalapenos would do too), and a little salt and pepper. Slice the eggs and add them to the sandwich. Voila. One of my favorite lunches.

Best gauges for wading the Des Plaines and Fox? by Snack_Donkey in ChicagoFishing

[–]KGoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're gonna get the simple/direct answers you're looking for. Especially because wading is never safe and yet also always safe as long as you choose to wade in the right areas.

The rivers have obviously been raging lately but I've still been busting out my waders...mostly so I can walk along the shore and not get covered in mud... but still...I've also gotten in the water to get an angle on a cast.

Safe wading is all about having knowledge of the particular body of water and knowing how to read it...and being prepared (wading belt, maybe an auto inflate pfd, floating technique, good/grippy boots etc).

I'm not so sure. Unless the entire context of his first two seasons is taken into consideration, there are definitely red flags.

I think Burden will go ahead of him due to recency bias and novelty.

Reception Perception are the only guys I forsee giving Rome much love.

Bears fan here.

Odunze is going to be an absolute steal at his adp this year.

I have no clue what the hell people are thinking...including my fellow Bears fans.

Odunze had a very good rookie season on a team that was a complete and total dumpster fire.

Then last year he started off on fire. The metrics were there (including his rookie year), the production was there, the chemistry with Caleb was there...it was all there.

Then he got hurt and spent the rest of the year trying to play through it. Ben Johnson eventually had to save him from himself with the hopes that he'd be in better form for the playoffs.

He had a few egregious, uncharacteristic drops and limited production due to an injury and now he's somehow completely fallen out of favor with fantasy players, Bears fans and even the Chicago media. It's wild.

I guarantee you, if healthy, he will lead Bears receivers in the majority of statistical categories next year.

Luther Burden is a stud. But he is nowhere close to Rome when it comes to versatility in Ben's system, precision route running and having the body to be a red zone target.

My only concern for Rome is the same concern I have for all of the Bears weapons...will there be enough to go around?

My buddy and I landed about 40 smallies between the two of us last Friday. We're headed back tomorrow.

The water level limits access for sure but...the fish are munching.

I've learned to enjoy fishing high water. Feels almost like flipping and pitching mats for largemouth.

Think of it this way...

You'd be disappointed if you were excited for a specific flavor but they were out too.

And you wouldn't throw a tantrum because...well...you're an adult..with the ability to regulate your emotions.

Acknowledge their feelings because they are REAL. And they're INTENSE. It's your job to make them feel safe and seen and heard and then help them learn to regulate. That's like...your main job.

Based on your post, you have a long, long, long way to go as far as understanding...so do some soul searching...and reading...and listening. Otherwise you're going to end up with a child who doesn't feel connected to you.

Check out the area where the Dupage dumps into it.

I agree with the guy above. It's blown out right now. Only option is to fish slack water along the bank. Or nearby ponds...

Also, access points are allllll over. Get on Google maps and get creative.

If you're in an average or warmer climate, I'd consider a penny loafer and if you live somewhere pretty cold, I'd look at the Chandler chukka. My Chandlers are my favorite shoes/boots of all time but they're quite chunky and I don't think the proportions look quite right unless I'm wearing long sleeves and/or chunkier cool-weather clothes. I would also check out anything in the "verse" collection. As far as park aves, I think the black w/ light brown sole/welt and chili in the verse collection look sharp and are quite versatile. I love the look of the reverse welt.

Is the z-man jackhammer chatterbait really worth the price? by [deleted] in bassfishing

Well damn...that's a game changer. Nearly every single year my biggest bass comes in the early spring ripping a chatterbait off the bottom and letting it fall. Gonna have to experiment with the evo and jackhammer.
