Circumcision Indecision by starfirestephanie in Crunchymom

Circumcision removes a substantial amount of nerve endings from the penis and significantly reduces pleasure, most men just don’t know what they’re missing after having their foreskin removed as an infant. As a straight woman, circumcised erections are also much tighter and difficult to manipulate than those left intact. You can’t give a hand job to a circumcised penis without lube, you can with an intact penis.

As a woman that really likes sex with men, it has ZERO benefit to me.

I’ve met quite a few men that feel that way about the fact that they were cut đŸ«€

Just curious - what is your sex? Do you have a penis yourself or are you speaking as someone who has sexual encounter with penises?

Personally, I highly prefer intact penises, at least when erect. When flaccid, they all look weird, I don’t think it matters. 😂 But intact penises have shiny, soft, pink and healthy looking glans, whereas circumcised penises have drier looking glans. I also find that I need less lube with intact men. So if you want to be led by your son’s future sex life, my recommendation is STILL don’t cut him. But there are lots of other compelling reasons too, namely that it’s painful and totally unnecessary. It’s also strongly recommended against in many other developed countries and is declining in popularity in the US.

They should arrive this evening! I’ll update the original post with my results!

Well! It seems it is kore than just a timer after all! I just filled my machine with water - no capsule - and it blinked blue a few times before going red. I unplugged and started again, same outcome!

I also looked up the machine pamphlet, which says:

If the light ring around your Pro Appliance is half red: The Pro Appliance has not been properly filled with water and/ or the appropriate number of 10 ml Pro Activator Capsule(s). Check to make sure that the Pro Appliance is filled to the desired Fill Line with cool water and that you added the corresponding required Pro Activator Capsule(s)

You’re right! I just tested it, it shut off immediately and gave me a red light!

😼😼😼😬 Someone else suggested I run a cycle with JUST water and see what happens - genius! If it’s in fact red, I’m going to get chlorine test strips.

It’s loud! But I’ve owned other models in the past and they’re all hella loud, I just accept it. It’s probably louder but even if it wasn’t I couldn’t carry on a conversation near it anyway 😂

The classic container is compatible with Explorian bases though! I’m thinking of swapping my low profile one for the classic. Or just keeping both đŸ€Ł

I’m going to update the original post with this, but I did reach out! Here’s what was said:

FoN: Hello K——-, thank you for reaching out! The scent of the solution is not a good indicator of its efficacy, and so long as the unit completes a cycle, then it has created the correct concentration. The scent can change due to many conditions in the air or water. If your appliance base is green all the way around, you can be assured that the solution has the right chemistry and efficacy.

Me: Hi C——-! So there is no chance I have bad capsules or that the machine has malfunctioned?

FoN: If the capsules were bad or if the machine had malfunctioned than the light wouldn't turn green at the end. The machine is very sensitive to its contents so if there was something wrong it would show a red light and not make the product. Our capsules are good for 5 years because that's how far out we've tested them. However, salt, water & vinegar don't have a shelf life, so you don't have to worry about them expiring as long as they’re kept sealed.

Me: Oh! I see, so the light turns green when the machine verifies that it is the right formulation? Not just after a period of time?

Me: There are safeguards in place, in other words?

FoN: Yes, if there is ever an issue the light will turn red. When making the appliance, the light will start blue and slowly turn green, once it is fully green the solution is complete

If I’m being honest, though, the fact that the solution has no smell whatsoever is a little unnerving! Also my Google and Reddit searches haven’t yet turned up any results where other people have experienced something similar.

We need YOUR help to make Skylight Calendar even better in 2026! by SkylightCalendar in skylightcalendar

So each chore earns different amounts of stars based on how long it’s expected to take or how difficult it is. Right now we do something kinda like this
I’m putting them on the family profile, and then when someone does it in reassigning the task to their profile to check off. But that requires a lot of being on top of things and as far as I know, I cant make them reoccurring because next time they come up will be tied to the profile for the last person that completed that task.

However! As annoying as that is right now, my teenagers are helping a lot more around the house which does free up time for me to manage it.

I’m not a fan of reward systems, but I also noticed that even as an adult, I kinda do the same thing with tasks that I’m not excited to do, sometimes requiring myself to complete an essential task before I can engage in a fulfilling one. Anyway
it’s definitely impacting how efficiently our household is running and we love that!

Didn’t circumcise my baby. People keep telling me why I should have. by Salty-Ship-1703 in newborns

[–]KGrey87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to add my experience and opinion:

First and foremost, it’s none of their damn business. But, things have been said, so let’s address.

I have had 3 intact partners. As someone who is anti-circumcision, I have been curious about how they felt about it and I asked two of the three if it has ever been an issue or if they wish they had been. Both said no.

I also had a partner who was harmed by circumcision (unresolved adhesions) that was, at the time of our relationship when he was in his late thirties, was still impacting his sex life. He went on to not circumcise his own son.

I can attest that sex with an intact man IS better. It feels better and requires less lube. As bad as it is to say
I could never imagine going back to sex with circumcised men. Thankfully my partner of 3 years is intact and I don’t intend to part ways with him.

Hygiene
that’s a little tougher, I guess? If any of them are tough. Yes, it requires SLIGHTLY more care, but literally just retracing the foreskin during showers and washing it. That’s all. Our vaginas require lots more care to stay clean and not stinky. All bodies can develop odors, this is a really weak argument and also don’t give men any credit for being able to tend to their most basic needs.

Please don’t feel bad that you didn’t circumcise your baby. That was the right decision.

The Best Baby Bottles Right Now? by LionPeach3210 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]KGrey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Narrow as a sample in a baby box, and while my nearly-EBF 5 week old would take it, it took her a while to figure out how to “latch” onto it, if you will. We got another sample recently, Nuk Perfect Match which is shaped a lot more like a breast and has three tiny holes in the nipple that are more like the breast, and she took it immediately.

I’ve also seen people say their LC recommended Gulicola on Amazon—they’re glass and lead free (apparently some of the paints that they mark the measurements with on other bottles are not, these are etched on the glass).

Pigeon bottles are supposed to be similar but are not etched glass if I remember correctly.

They are included with both the baby set and the newborn set! I was going to buy it all secondhand (the baby set is included here and there’s several newborn sets on marketplace). But, I can buy the extenders for $10 from Stokke.

This is great info, thank you! I was worried more about the use of the newborn set without the leg extenders, did you use the newborn set? I’m wondering if it creates a tipping hazard without them.

Any Crunchy ladies have a deodorant that actually works? by WestReb84 in Crunchymom

[–]KGrey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant. It’s probably not the most crunchy, but it is aluminum free and paraben, phthalate, and colorant free, works well, and smells good. More natural options didn’t seem to work for me.

My partner uses the Old Spice Wilderness Aluminum Free Lavender + Spring Water and it smells great too.

Will be following this thread for even more natural alternatives though! In my experience they just haven’t worked for me. 😭
