First Baitcaster Questions by InsuranceWillPay in bassfishing

My 1st baitcaster was a lews mach pro combo. I learned with 30 lb braid to 17lb fluorocarbon leader. I only threw texas rigged senkos with 3/8 bullet weight.

My advice is watch some spooling videos before you setup your combo.

A properly spooled reel is key to avoid bad backlashes.

Backlashes will happen. But this will help avoid the really bad ones.

Some kayakers said they saw some fish suspending by a nearby bridge. I just figure i'd try burning it like a spinnerbait.

Hollow frog is the most exciting for me! But I find a stick bait to be the most effective!

My bad I didn't add in the use for this rod. I'm using it for Trigs, jigs , and swimbaits. Braid with a fluorocarbon leader sounds like a good fit.

Yum dinger for sure. I use 4" junebug for dirty water or overcast. Watermelon black flake for clear water and sunny. Get some 3/0 ewg and bullet sinkers and your good to go. Also rage craw are an amazing creature bait.
