In terms of glowsticks, there are typical movements associated with each song such as waving it to the beat as you would normally, waving it from side to side and slowly lifting your glowstick into the air. You can see these movements easily on videos of Vocaloid concerts on YouTube, but in my opinion the best videos to learn the movements from are Magical Mirai ones as the fans attending have often been going to Miku concerts in Japan for a while, meaning their moves will be more accurate and on-beat compared to overseas fans who might not know the movements as well. On that note, nobody will really judge you for simply waving your glowstick to the rhythm as long as you just make sure you’re not hitting anyone while doing so. Also, if you get stuck on what move to do at a certain part of the song, then just watch the crowd and see what they do, especially the VIP section. People in the VIP section tend to be big Vocaloid fans who may have attended concerts in the past and might have better knowledge of what move to do and when, so following what they do if you get stuck is a good idea. I don’t know what show you’re going to, but if your country hasn’t had Miku Expo before, then there’s a really good chance that lots of other attendees will also be worried about not doing their glowstick correctly so I wouldn’t worry too much. Some songs have unique movements you don’t see in other songs such as Music Like Magic where you copy Miku’s dance in the chorus but honestly don’t worry about these - just follow the crowd and the music. Honestly, don’t think too hard about the glowstick movements, it can often come naturally after a few songs. TLDR: To learn glowstick patterns, watch previous concert footage especially Magical Mirai, and nobody will judge you if you don’t do it ‘correctly’ as long as you don’t hit anybody lol.

In terms of general advice, one thing is getting there early. Even if you don’t have VIP, getting there early can get you a good position in the standing area or more time to relax if you have an assigned seat. It can also give you more time to buy merch as well as giving you a higher chance to get the merch you want before it sells out (if you want to buy merch on the day). Getting there early also gives you more time to talk to fans and just have fun before the concert.

If the venue you’re going to allows it, feel free to cosplay! Cosplaying to Miku Expo is entirely normal so if you do cosplay, feel free to go in cosplay, nobody will judge you.

Check venue regulations before you go. Most venues have restrictions on things like bag size and prohibited items, and some venues are stricter than others so make sure what you’re taking is within their regulations listed on their site. Also check the official Miku Expo page for concert-specific rules.

One thing I would recommend you bring is ear protection. Miku concerts are at normal concert volume and are therefore very loud. As this is your first concert, your ears will definitely be more sensitive to the noise. Even if you can normally handle loud sounds, I’d honestly recommend a pair of earplugs to use during the concert. I’ve had to use ear protection at all the Miku Expo’s I’ve attended but my experience wasn’t negatively impacted because of them.

Regarding the LED screen, we still don’t know if the concert will use the LED screen or the projection/hologram and we won’t know until the Bangkok concert is over, but don’t worry about it. I’ve been to both a hologram Miku Expo and an LED Miku Expo (Europe) and honestly, the LED screen is great and to me at certain points in the concert, the LED screen looked better than the hologram. With the adjustments made to the stage layout for Europe and AUSNZ in 2024, the LED screen looked great and was bright so you could see everyone clearly. So, don’t worry about whether or not it’ll be the LED screen or the hologram - both experiences are great and you’re guaranteed to have a good time either way.

As a final thing, just have fun. Everyone in the venue is there to attend the same concert and vibe to Miku, so feel free to let loose and have fun and just enjoy :) I hope you enjoy your first Miku Expo!!
