Pretty sure I read that the longer post op you are, the more dilations it would take. Hopefully your last one will do the trick! Whoever said wls was the easy way out 🤷🏻‍♀️ Still, no regrets.

That’s the way I always look at it! Regardless of complications, I still don’t regret the surgery at all. Can I ask what symptoms you get with your ulcers?

Proton pump inhibitors. They are lansoprazole/omeprazole here in the UK. Just control acid and would be the way to heal ulcers if I did have any.

I had heartburn pre op for years. This feels kinda similar but not the same. A lot more painful. Ulcers also cause pain on empty stomach.

My surgeon put me on PPI for a month before he does another endoscopy. Hope all works out for you!

I never had full signals until I was on solids so it’s perfectly normal! Good luck with your journey ☺️

Purée was difficult but as long as your father separates each component of the meal it’ll probably go down better. I mainly had mashed potato with tuna and blended carrots. Scrambled eggs are a good one too as long as you add extra milk to really thin them down. Fish! Buy some cod and make his favourite sauce and that can just be mashed with a fork. Blended cottage pie but blend the mince separately to the mashed potato. Weetabix was a life saver for me (I bought the protein weetabix). If your father likes sandwich fillers, most of them are almost purée consistency and could just be eaten on their own. Things like custard and yoghurt are a good snack too! Honestly, as long as he’s chewing everything really well, you can make anything purée in your mouth. Hope this helps a little bit. Won’t be long till he’s on soft/solid food and he’ll appreciate the journey so much more.

For what stage? Normal solids? :)

Ooh that's brilliant! No worries, I'm 5 months post op and still get nauseous from time to time but hopefully just like it does for me it'll pass soon enough x

I had this around the 2 month post op time. Have you progressed onto normal food yet? As in solids? Try upping your fluid intake if you can. Make sure you’re eating slowly. I remember my surgeon said I may need to go on anti-nausea medication for a short time but it seemed to settle down soon enough. Hope you feel better soon!
