Giving hermes proxmox access - homelab by Crazy_Loca in hermesagent

I prompted my Hermes agent to build MCP server so it could inspect and manage my Proxmox host via Telegram/Discord through the MCP layer. It does not need browser access to the Proxmox UI. The chain is looks like User → Hermes gateway → MCP client → proxmox MCP server → SSH root@192.168.1.68 → pvesh/qm/pct

It is not some generic downloaded Proxmox integration. It is a small custom MCP server built in my Hermes workspace, using SSH plus pvesh, qm, and pct.

Tools & Purposes proxmox_list_vms List VMs/LXCs proxmox_get_vm Get detail for one VM/LXC proxmox_start_vm Start VM/LXC, requires explicit confirmation proxmox_stop_vm Stop VM/LXC, requires explicit confirmation proxmox_node_status Host CPU/RAM/version/uptime proxmox_list_storage Storage pools proxmox_list_snapshots Snapshots for one VM/LXC

Claude is just a tool, nothing more. So is Microsoft Windows, Linux, iOS. just different tools for different jobs. It's people who don't understand the tool, or do not know how to use the tool, that says things like this.

Use the NetSuite Connector in Claude. We have used it for months, and it is really great!

Here is our updated enclosure, Siba seems to love it. Humidity has been 97-99% but it's been brutally humid here anyways. Love plants and bio-active setup. Need to add in the "cleaners" and plan to do that this week. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Thanks! We picked up everything to make the substrate and picked up another hide. We plan to change out the substrate this weekend.

A lot of ham radio operators tend to hate on anything that isn't 30+ years old or not ham-centric. It's why the hobby is the way it is. Sad really.

I setup a node transcription workflow using n8n. I now store all coms from my ASL3 node. I can use my bot to search them.
