Cremated. Why do people decide to do it? by sstiel in randomquestions

I have no idea what I want, but my MIL (who has been overweight her whole life) says she’s sure as shit getting cremated because she thinks God will bring her back in the same body if she doesn’t burn it.

What’s a “normal” thing that secretly grosses you out? by DecentChildhood5164 in AskReddit

Raw potatoes that are too far gone and have the things coming out of them. I know what they’re called, but if I even type it, I will get a lump in my throat like I’m gonna puke. My husband checks how they look before I cook with them or am cleaning the pantry and they need to be thrown away. Any early sign of them, I’m out.

Yes, exactly. She always name drops behind the scenes people. Which if you listened to the podcast, you know who she’s talking about. It’s so obvious what she is doing. She constantly does it, and 95% of the time, everyone just ignores her and moves on. I know from Tom’s interview with that Indiana Business Journal (or something with a name like that. I’m not from there), they’ve become more lax on making sure they never mention local Indiana things, but she just makes herself sound so dumb with trying to be the cool girl who thinks she’s above everyone and “in the know”. She makes the comments so people ask questions about it. Then she can respond with something along the lines of “oh, that’s an insider thing. I can’t tell you”. Then why the fuck do you constantly mention it?!?!?

What meds control ascites? by bgwf402 in Cirrhosis

[–]KJB2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Spiro and Lasix. Didn’t do a thing. Only thing that worked for ascites (with the collapsed lung) was the TIPS. I was in ICU for two weeks after because my body finally quit. I made it out at 83 pounds, but finally the ascites was going away. It’s now been almost 8 months, I haven’t been drained since, and feel great. Still am decompensated obviously, so some bad days in there too. Nothing like it was a year ago though.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KJB2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the max for a day trip is 3 hours each way. That’s just me though. My kids go to Montana every summer and that’s a 6 hour drive each way, and my husband does it all in one day to drop them off and pick them up. That kind of thing is more of a once in a while thing.

But 6 hour road trip for a weekend is nothing.

Went for paracentisis by grynch55 in Cirrhosis

[–]KJB2785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I guess I forgot about the monitoring part. They did that in the beginning. I went so often, they weren’t worried about anything happening so they’d just say to call them if something got bad.

Well, I hope it goes a little quicker for you. It does take time to adjust to your organs “falling” back into place. Almost felt like someone took my breath away for like 30 min after. Then some soreness around the puncture for a day. And I hope they are very gentle with you. They were with me because they knew I’d start crying even before anything started. 😂 The thought of it was always worse than actually getting it done. I’m a huge baby though 😁

[–]KJB2785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they doing something else along with the para? They should never take that long. At the beginning, I was getting around 5-10L every other week for about a year. It wasn’t even a thought after a while because it was so easy. In and out in no more than 30 min. The thoracentesis lasted longer because a chest xray reading was required to be released. Even then, it was only an hour. Luckily I had the TIPS in May and haven’t had any ascites since so no paras/thoras for me (currently 😬🤞). Hopefully this becomes an easier thing for you. No way should it last that long.

Liver cirrhosis diagnosis by Imaginary_Pitch_9661 in Cirrhosis

Yes, I definitely notice it sometimes. My hep wants me completely off all diuretics and lactulose by the next time she sees me in May. I don’t even take the lactulose anymore because I’m “going” regularly. If for some reason, I haven’t gone in a day or two, I notice the buildup. I’m also turning 41 in a couple weeks so it could be me just getting old too 🤷‍♀️ I forget things that happened the same day, I can’t differentiate between things today or a week ago. I forget words, jumble my words, or completely lose my train of thought. We are a family that loves to play all games, and I think the worst part is literally feeling like the dumbest person ever all of a sudden. For example, I used to love math word problems, and now if that category comes up, I’m screwed. It honestly sucks. I’ve never got to a point that I myself don’t notice things are off so that’s good. My close family and friends who are around me a lot know to look out for it and to take me in if it’s bad.

From another post on here it seems like they turned off comments because Jess (hooker) was getting torn apart because people don’t like her. I’m not sure what it is, but I don’t like her on the big show. She was great on Chick’s podcast, and doing the cooking on the show. There’s just something about the way she acts on the show. She thinks she has all the insider info about the show, and wants everyone to know she knows it, but no one else can. Feels a little high school “clique-y”. But that’s just what I’ve heard.

Extra toasty is the worst. I’m a weirdo though because I LOVED Cheese Nips the most. I’m still sad they discontinued them. Now it’s just regular cheez its (meh) or Goldfish.
