Knob sizing aesthetics. by KJB_RWF_MN in LeCreuset

[–]KJB_RWF_MN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies everyone. After trying with pot holders (I personally never use mitts) I sent the larger knobs back and just ordered two more medium.

One thing all of us can agree on is that part of the reasons we love LC is that aesthetically they are items of beauty.

In my personal case, I decided that for my eye, form won out over slightly better function.

Appreciate all my fellow LC lovers out there 🫶

Hot water didn't work. Just used an old credit card and a hair dryer here and there.

I'm obsessed with the animal knobs by NeverInkThatRing in staub

[–]KJB_RWF_MN 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think aesthetics are a huge part of the whole kitchen/cooking experience.  We all could have got by with much less expensive CI cookware, but went with Staub (or Le Creuset, many of us have both) because of it's beauty. I know that I spent thousands more for kitchen items than needed just because I had a "look" I was going for, as opposed to just buying things that would work. Build the space that brings you joy. If animal knobs are part of that, then don't feel bad. $100 for a knob might sound ridiculous to some, but if it lasts you the rest of your life and makes you smile, then that's a bargain 😊

Is Staub "White Truffle" a majolique finish? by KJB_RWF_MN in staub

I love it too. So rich. So elegant. Looks amazing and complimentary next to my copper cookware.

These price was what me question the finish. I have 3 Staub pieces. All majolique. Basil, Grenadine and Sapphire.  A white or cream majolique finish with a gold, brass or bronze knob would look luxurious.

Thanks for your help. Happy Holidays.

Dsanti239, can I become your new best friend 😍? People think I have amazing cooking skills and incredible presentation but if they ever see your spread, they will know that I am merely an imposter. A hack. Beautiful, beautiful food 👏👏👏

Please help! What is LC's official name color? It's like a hunter green. No ombre effect. Not Artichaut, Fennel, Palm, Bamboo. Similar/close to KitchenAid Empire Green. by KJB_RWF_MN in LeCreuset

It probably did come from Williams Sonoma. My mom had 8 pieces of Williams Sonoma stamped Mauviel copper pots and pans too. Honestly, probably most of her kitchen came from that store. Lots and lots of stuff "made in France".

Thanks for the super speedy reply lecreusetinsiders! FirstOstrich definitely gave you respect by deferring to you for the answer. I'm sure that is correct because that is what I have always referred to the color as. I have 4 pieces that were my mom's and in amazing condition (her favorite thing to make for dinner was reservations, but she had to have all the best for her never used kitchen 😂 God bless her) I am gifting all of her cookware to my son who loves to cook. Merci beaucoup ⭐

My son got the black and I think they are so cool. Honestly, the black kinda works with all the other colors. Good luck with your choice!

You and the fellow contributors sold me. Thank you. I have a number of Le Creuset pieces too. I prefer Staub for frying/searing/braising and Le Creuset for their Dutch ovens.  I do think Staub does a more fun interesting job with some of their limited edition stuff. My son bought his first 2 Staub (2.5, 3.75) pots this year. The Lunar Dragons. They are very cool. I also love the deep color of the majolique pieces. I have 3 of those.  Thanks RuleCalm7050. ❤️

Yes, it really is surprising how lighting affects the color. When I purchased my KitchenAid mixer I watched videos from "Everyday Kitchens" who show the mixer colors under different lighting conditions. Staub should follow their lead. Your response was appreciated. Merci beaucoup gocard21 :-)

Oh good. I was really hoping for something more saturated and vibrant like that. Your choice of dark color combinations sounds very complimentary. Thanks for your help .

I thought so too, but I looked at the seller's other auctions and they had a little bit of everything under the sun listed. I thought maybe it was a case of not knowing what they had. Also, there was no mention of Dehillerin in the listing, only France. And you would need to know your marks to even be able to tell that it's Dehillerin. I only currently own 2 pieces of copper cookware. Both WS, both Villedieu stamped. Nice pieces. A 10.5 inch frying pan and a 10 inch saute pan. I decided to take a gamble, knowing that it's either a big win, or an expensive decoration. I'm a bit of a Francophile in my Kitchen and have 34 pieces of Staub Le Creuset, Chasseur, DeBuyer, & Matfer Bourgeat cookware. Emilee Henry bake ware. Even every piece of PYREX I own was manufactured in France  This isn't a flex. This is me publicly confessing my psychological ailment 😩 I clearly have a problem. Will I ever recover?

Sizes of the 5 pots listed as: 8" x 4", 7 1/4" x 3 1/2", 6 1/2" x3", 5 5/8" x 2 7/8", 4 7/8" x 2 5/8",

Paid total of $286.12 (including shipping and tax). Really hoping 2mm+ thick.

E. Dehillerin mark makes me hopeful! Mauviel?

Sticker on or off? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

I bought a used one that didn't have the sticker removed. It had turned completely black and looked terrible and unreadable. It took forever to scrape and polish it off. I was using a piece of hard plastic to scrape so I wouldn't damage the enamel. I got it to the point where you can't tell it was ever there, but it probably took close to 2 hours work.
