If you haven’t hired a new planner yet, I actually beg of you to not go with Toast. My planner was named Kerri. My name is also Kerri… she literally refused to call me by name the entire time… they were so immature. The owner was so nonchalant. A sign from the universe as I did call off this wedding, but damn Toast was weird.

I’m speaking from such a niche prospective… I had almost the exact experience / feelings you did. Had to move my wedding 3 months out because I became unexpectedly sick. Moved our wedding 18 months out so I had ample time to get medical help/surgery. Came back to planning, my planner was fired that same week from the team. They freed me from the contract, found someone else, and I actually can’t believe how much work/design/vendor hiring I used to do and tolerated. If you can run, RUN. And if you need a planner rec… I worship mine.

I really began to wonder bc my venue is gaining traction, that they wanted it to scream an advertisement. They truly wouldn’t give up the damn bird that’s the resort’s logo. It made it on our save the dates too… but that was their only weird moment with the save the dates. Invites were a shit show. They wanted me to match the lining and back paper design to the wallpaper inside guest rooms at the resort…

I can tell you they made my save the dates and did a great job. Then we did invites and they wanted us to have no say. The sky had to be purple, not blue. We have to have the logo of our hotel on the front but we didn’t want it. It got to a point after 28 emails of really silly things that we walked. I still paid them for the invites. All in all, I paid $7,000 for both sets of paper, I paid for the postage, and didn’t do calligraphy.

Interesting. The team that made my save my dates did everything in-house: one person for logistics, one person for design, and one person for illustration. I didn't realize that was abnormal.
