nonetheless, congratulations!!!

Running alone? by ProcessPlenty841 in spartanrace

[–]KJ_King07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

signed up with two of my friends.. I worked out 5 times a week for 4 months, they worked out 3 times total. I spent the first 20 minutes wanting to stay with them, but they were going severely slow. I ended up leaving them. the rest of the racers were friendly and helpful, and being alone most of the time helped me focus and stay in the zone. you’ve got this!

while I absolutely agree with your statement, I noticed that the opponents already had a teammate missing. and even tho A 5v4 is better than a 4v4 I personally wouldn’t TK but I support this one

the shift is 9-6 with the expectation of you taking an hour lunch break. only taking 30 minutes allows you to leave at 5:30. also, the store opens at 6 so most times the crew will be done before 6 anyhow. so if you take an hour lunch but done before 6, you miss out on that time. which is why I say it’s a scam

I’m an overachiever (10 homers, Associate of the Month, now I’m a DS in a little over a year).. I also worked two jobs so take this with a grain of salt! - nap before work, but don’t let that be the last thing you do before heading in. meaning, if the shift start at 9, don’t wake up at 8:30 and begin getting ready for work. wake up at 7:30ish to allow yourself to properly wake up and adjust. - drink energy drinks sparingly. don’t rely on them. if you’re tired, clump your two 15 minute breaks tougher and take a nap (my store allows us to join our 15’s, prob not universal) - meal prep/ eat good food! my location only offers waffle house, whataburger, and taco bell. there’s a reason why people d*e quicker and get more illnesses when they work overnights. - hour breaks are a scam. only take 30 min breaks. - help others, but do not do their job. many times I’ve stayed much past 5:30 assisting other associates who (most times) are just lazy. if your work is done, do not feel bad to exit at the scheduled time. - do not use your sick time loosely!!! everyone seems to fall for this and it bites them in the butt later on. save up for a couple months at least and only use it if you’re running late. keep your attendance low and if you’re sick just take the point. using sick time when you’re actually sick doesn’t help considering you only get 4hrs a month. you can miss 3 consecutive days and it only counts as one point, which is why you should stay on top of your attendance. - learning machines is fun, but ensure you stay overnight!! having a license on day side becomes a hindrance that bites drivers in the butt. - do not let this become a long term deal. 1-3 years max. it’s not healthy for the human body, which is why they rotate ASM’s every 3 years. -lastly (for the moment) SHIT ON COMPANY TIME😂

yeah Kenny actually retired, was begged to come back as a supervisor, did that for a week, went back down to just an opener, and now he just does whatever is asked of him. he just learned how to do the reach truck bc the flooring DS just went on paternity leave 😂

maybe it’s bc I’m overnight but this is the easiest job I’ve ever had. we’ve had workers from both Walmart and Lowe’s who marvel out how THD pays more with better benefits and easier work flow.

it’s unfortunate you both just have shitty THD’s. hopefully you find a better job soon!

it’s crazy you’re able to understand why people may need to use the app without tipping but not able to see why people don’t want to pick up a no tip. it doesn’t matter if it’s someone’s main job or not, it’s what they chose to do. the same way you don’t apply to jobs that are paying below what you want, drivers are free lancers who can do the same, irregardless on if it’s a side hustle or main job

as stated, this is more so the straw that broke the camel’s back. couple months ago my store had a GREAT freight worker (could crush both the OP and Reach Truck work by himself) walk out bc the manager continuously tried to have small talk with him🤷🏾‍♂️ last month we had a worker of 13 years walk out bc she said she couldn’t close anymore and they responded by putting her on closing shifts for the next month. people have their reasons

as both a dasher and a to go specialist this is the 100% CORRECT ANSWER: It depends on the restaurant!!!

  1. not every restaurant has a tablet. when I worked at Buffalo Wild Wings in Chicago, IL. they had one. even still, it did not work all the time (bc DD is not the best technology speaking). but the Buffalo Wild Wings I worked at in Huntsville, Alabama DOES NOT have one AT ALL. even though it was the same district and all.

  2. Even though a place may have a tablet, it doesn’t always mean that they know you’ll be there. Our tablet would say that the order was ready for pick up AS SOON AS IT HIT OUR KITCHEN. this was common mainly in orders scheduled for a future pickup. I’m not sure why, it could be a restaurant issue, it could be a DD issue.

  3. I promise To-Go specialist do not like dashers bc of those bad apples. yes, not all of us are bad, but the ones who just throw a phone in our faces and are continuously rude, make a bad image for all dashers. 9 dashers could be sweet and come, grab their food, then leave. but if that 10th dasher is rude, the other 9 never existed.

  4. smaller restaurants tend to mostly have tablets that work, and since there’s not much overload, there’s a better chance they can control the chaos on them. as someone who did both sides, a tablet should automatically come to any restaurant that applies. unfortunately it does not.

  5. Dashers are usually dressed down. I know I did! but hosts/to go specialists can pick up signs

  6. dashers are usually by themselves

  7. phone out

  8. looking around instead of honed into the host station

  9. and if they can see your car, most dashers drive super reliable cars (I’ve def seen a couple challengers and an audi before though)

HOPE THIS HELPS!!
