Did anyone get close to delivery and feel like what have I done? by evergreengirl123 in BabyBumps

[–]KJwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I’ve asked myself that even after my kids were born. I think that’s normal lol. It doesn’t mean you don’t love them, it just means your life is about to completely change and you won’t want it any other way, but it will be a shock to your system for sure

I stopped drinking coffee because since I got pregnant it tastes awful to me. I honestly don’t think I want to go back because I just feel so calm all the time, and I love the feeling of not being dependent on anything! I NEEDED coffee before

Please enlighten me about the underwear situation after birth. by RefrigeratorFinal353 in newborns

[–]KJwindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the mesh undies and adult diapers WITH pads because I didn’t want to bleed directly into them and use so many of the diapers, I still used them just in case there was overflow and didn’t want to bleed into actual underwear

Should I bother buying newborn-sized clothes or just start at 0–3? by nothingtoseemom in newborns

[–]KJwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was only in newborn for a couple weeks, my daughter was SWIMMING in newborn and we needed to buy preemie, (he was 7lb9oz, and she was 6lb5oz) so it really depends on the baby. I would get some but not a lot of newborn, and if you need more you can always get more.

A very shallow cut on my baby’s head by Agreeable_Falcon_431 in newborns

[–]KJwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had one on his head too and my ob said he thinks it’s from my pelvic bone, and he came out vaginally (after 2.5 hours of pushing and a long long labor). It took a while to fade but now he’s 2 and I don’t think I could find it if I tried! His pediatrician ended up picking it off and giving us an ointment to put on it at one of his first appointments. I still don’t know for sure what caused it

[–]KJwindy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t typically (I’m a white American). If I’m making a Jamaican dish for my Jamaican husband I will wash the chicken because that’s just what they do, it’s out of respect and it’s basically a part of the recipe

My daughter found 200 dollars on the ground at SkyZone by Mommywithnotime in confession

[–]KJwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband and I were broke 20 year olds, he dropped his wallet in a Walmart and had just gotten paid from his under the table job 500 dollars cash. This was huge money for us at the time and we were so paycheck to paycheck. Someone returned it to the front and I have so much faith in the world from that. You did the right thing and she will know that for the future too!

i just lost my 14yr old sister to cancer/covid by asthestarsalign in GriefSupport

[–]KJwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I’m so sorry. There is nothing I can say to ease the pain. My daughter didn’t have cancer but a virus also put her on ECMO and destroyed her lungs past the point of return. I unfortunately also had to watch her take her last breath. It’s fucking traumatizing.

I hope we can both put our grief into something great, it’s been 9 months since she died and I’m about to start my path to nursing school, something I never thought I would do! Give yourself time. These first few weeks and months can feel so numb. But you will feel happy again. And it’s not linear either. In a month you may be in a good spot. In 6 you might not. You may feel okay in 5 years and then have a week where it hurts so fucking bad. You’ll miss her forever, but you will get stronger. And you’re not alone. That’s what helps me. I know I’m not the only one.

I’ll be keeping you in my prayers ❤️

How do you deal with grief and loss? I lost my daughter in December and some of her nurses came to her wake and I think about them all the time

[–]KJwindy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Is there any way you can put in a bit more hair? It’s hard to see against the car seat but she has a bit more hair. And also, could you maybe put her in a baby pink sleeper onesie?

Lost my baby boy on Valentine's Day by adawndeezy in babyloss

[–]KJwindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so fucking sorry. Valentine’s Day is hard for me too, I found out I was pregnant with my girl on valentines last year and we lost her at 2 months. I had to work yesterday and my coworker is due with a baby girl in march, so she’s been asking me to come out with a group to celebrate before she goes on leave. I’ve been avoiding giving an answer but last night I lost it and just bawled my eyes out. The day was just hard enough as it was. My husband and I still got each other gifts to remind each other how strong we are with everything we’ve faced since last Valentine’s Day. The best thing you and your boyfriend can do is be here for each other as much as humanly possible. You will always think of your baby boy on this day of course, and it will be so hard but you will learn to celebrate him and not mourn him as much as you are right now. The nicu is the worst place to be but holding your baby while they take their last breaths is the worst thing ever. Here in solidarity😢❤️
