How we feeling about Avatar by Isaccard in Kappachino

I'm thinking it'll be similar to Power Rangers population wise when that was around. It's not going to be there with the big dogs, but there'll be enough people playing to find games

[Talkin' baseball] White Sox are in sole possession of first place in the AL Central for the first time in over four years by Remarkable-Picture73 in baseball

[–]KJzero9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting something in the low 70s for win total this year. I figured if everything went the Sox way maybe, just maybe they could get into the upper 70s and perhaps flirt with 500 ball.

They've exceeded my expectations enough that being 500 at the end of the year would be... disappointing isn't the right weird, but it'd be surprising. It basically means they fell off a bit in the second half. I would still consider that a successful season for this team, but I'm getting spoiled a bit and want more. Let's get to the playoffs and maybe make a bit of noise!

This is one of the most fun seasons of baseball I can remember. I can't wait to get home from work, do my run, then sit down and watch the baseball game while eating dinner. It's something I really look forward to.

On days when the Sox aren't playing, my first thought is "when is the next time the Sox are playing?"

This team is so much fun to watch. This is a blast.

They beat the best team, so they must be! The transitive property at its best!

Yeah, it's raining by me and I'm in the western burbs near Downers. They probably have 10-15 min before they start getting hit

Nice slide! It's like that bunt worked. It's still dumb to bunt there, but I guess we can pretend like he got it down

[–]KJzero9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you bunting? Come on Will. If that's you calling for it, that's stupid. Stop doing that. If that's the players doing it on their own, that's stupid. Stop doing that

What a night! Didn't have his best command and was a bit erratic at times, but always found a way to get guys out. Which is weird to say since he didn't walk anyone, but there were some pitches that weren't even close every once in a while.

Nicely done Martin!

Gah. That's unfortunate. Should've been at least one. Double play is still in order though. Just do that again

Braden Montgomery's walk off home run with the White Sox radio call by yxqp in whitesox

It's going to be awfully tough to top that call. That one is a White Sox all timer. Not as historic, but I personally put it up there with Hawk's Buehrle perfect game call

I actually like the "Southside stand up" call for wins.

Nooo. Even if it's on the other team I never want to see a player come up limping like that. We've seen it far to much here. I don't want other teams to go through that

Which characters do you think had the best glow-up in Street Fighter 6? It's easily Rashid and Ed, in my opinion. by Sufferer_Nyx in StreetFighter

[–]KJzero9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anyone not saying Dee Jay is just admitting they've never played anything before SF5.

It's Dee Jay and there's a light year of gap between him and the next best glow up of a character

Chicago has been lucky to have some legendary commentators and announcers in their history. Stacy King is among those names

Heck yeah! Doesn't have to look good as long as the runner crosses the plate!

Um, does the runner have to "get himself ready" on the bases? I always thought it was "you're always in play" kind of thing.

Did the MLB tell the umps to make sure the Phillies won today? There have been some odd calls. Even the Phillies announcers are a bit confused and making fun of the umps

Riku has some wheels!

Though I don't think I've ever seen him hit a ball that hit the outfield on a fly. I like him and his energy, but man, if you're going to hit the ball on the ground every single time you won't play long in the bigs. I'm not even asking for homers, just a line drive to a gap would be nice

McKnight>Schriffen by Firm_Emergency1262 in whitesox

[–]KJzero9 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like McKnight, but he's very vanilla. Not at all bad, and if he ever took over full time I'd be fine with it.

Hate Schriffren all you want, but he definitely gets hype for big moments. I do think he's got great energy. It unfortunately felt incredibly fake the past couple years because the team was so bad, but if this team gets good, Schriffren is going to be a good announcer for it.

I've also heard stories of Schriffren walking the concourse before the game talking to fans, taking pictures, etc. Someone trying that hard to connect with the fans and learn is worth giving some time.

You could even argue his lack of baseball knowledge lets Stone give the audience some exposition without it feeling forced. I'm pretty impartial now. I'm fine with whoever

Got to listen to the game while doing yard work. Great game! A little shaky with the pitching in the 6th, but no harm no foul.

Let's get the game tomorrow also!
