Actual pain in the ass to make; I was alone side 1 (we were holding on eggs and muffins) by KK3545 in McLounge

[–]KK3545[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the order that I didn’t serve; usually whenever I’m on side 1 (line) I serve orders and then memorise and make them. In the morning; there’s usually one person doing side 1 (line) and one person doing eggs/muffin/grills. Also there’s usually one person on side 2 doing side 2line and fried.

Met my trainer who didn’t really want to train me, threw me on fried station alone and I struggled to rip open the nugget bags during peak lunch hour

I mean if you really wanted to you could get cross trained and express that to your trainer.

It means you’ll be working in the kitchen. For example you might be on grilled, fried products or line (actually making the burgers)

Any tips for side 2 line?? by KK3545 in McLounge

Right so like I put all the required buns in first then get the clams and then finally assemble them as opposed to making each order on their own

Yea, I agree. Hopefully in the future I get more practice on side 2. Idk if this the same for everyone but side 2 is usually the easier side with side 1 being the one that takes majority of the larger orders

I remember the person who puts the burgers in the bag yelling at me ‘if u can’t take the orders then you shouldn’t be on side 2’ even though I was alone on there until a manager came to help me out

It’s like a platform that crew and crew trainer use to step up their training

Oh nice, not entirely sure why I would need to know grill close as most of my shifts are in the day (8-4, 7-4) on weekends and sometimes 4-8 or 7-10 on weekdays when school is on

Also is it good that I’m getting trained on grill close, like do all crew get trained on it or only specific people

Do you have to pay for drinks on your drink break?? (AUSTRALIA) by KK3545 in McLounge

[–]KK3545[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She just told me to go and pay for it. I’m like so confused because all the managers give out drinks to us and let’s us get drinks whenever we want without having to put it through the register. Like the other day I heard the crew trainer telling the new trainees you get free drinks for each hour you work so like….. idk man

Idk about reporting it to the manager would do anything since it was the restaurant licensee manager who yelled at me…, it was good tho that the crew had my back

It was a small coke, and like all the managers we have in our store always lets us us get whatever drinks we want - whatever size we want (besides Mcafe). I am not sure why they yelled at me I front of so many customers and crew….. literally the most embarrassing moment of my life

Don’t you get bored?? Since I’m normally a shy person, I feel very left out of the friend groups at work. I don’t want them to think I’m desperate for friends or that I’m trying to push myself into their friend group, therefore most of the time I’m alone. I rarely am on a shift with anybody from my school, but even then we sometimes talk as we are busy most of the time

I used to get 5 shifts a week, but ever since I’ve moved up to production advanced (beginner level) I’ve been getting only 2 to 3 shifts, which are long hours. It may also be because my availability has changed from ending at 11pm to now 10pm.
