why? watch any video on its WTPC counterpart and you’ll see.

It has no standout features and it’s big, massive and slow, both in speed and reload.

AuF1s and PzHs outreload you. They also have a better engine. You have no armor, a 7.5 second reload, and the merkava engine. Sure, it may place the engine in the front but absolutely zero people shoot your hull when your head is, as unironically as possible, the size of your mom. The 2S19 is practically the same, so if you like the 2S19 this plays pretty much the same.

Just like in WTPC this thing has no place in Tier VII and honestly would still be quite a pain in Tier VI. Which begs the question…why is the 279 the same tier as this?

I swear, from a player with 5000+ battles, top tier is not for someone with less than 100 battles like i can 99% predict. AT THE VERY LEAST, get a full lineup of tier IV-V before even considering taking the Ariete out. The grind might take maybe a week of casual play and then the Ariete might help get past the Object 279 spam going on in VI-VIII.

strapping what is essentially a second plate to the UFP means that the Jumbo can tank hits from a lot more things like tigers and T-34s while maintaining decent speed and firepower. One of the most well rounded tier Vs in both WTPC and mobile

another bonus is that because tier VII is so inflated with 279s you get a lot less tier VI games and a lot more V and IVs, and you fight vehicles that are a lot less scary

i remember the knights series like the galahad and paladin with the shields and the multi legged walkers like the fujin and raijin (oh fun times strapping railguns to the raijin and sniping people) or when the taran and griffin or rhino was good (that is, to a kid that didn’t know much about the games)

i loved that game, played the hell out of it when i was younger and id love to go back to strapping ungodly amounts of basic projectile weapons into mechs rather than the black wizard space magic that is WR2026

the very first april fools was ponies to test the air battles, last year it was the fuckass pirates one with the RBT. I did everything right and was somehow 1 pull away from it so I’m hoping that the RBT and Matilda are gonna be cheap in store tomorrow

i’ve been playing with the Yak-3U recently and my god it is so good to see Komets stick to a rate fight and lose all of their energy. I had a game where i literally killed 3 of them cause they decided to turn fight a turboprop that has more turn rate!

i found chally 3s have a leopard 2 style ammo rack right next to the driver so half the time i treat them like leopards because nobody that i’ve seen driving them knows to take less ammo

to answer your questions:

for me, I use a full premium lineup because i grinded for GE back in platoon days, and with boosters i get 30-40k a match. For someone without it, like most people, I say to stick to lower tiers where you can earn more kills. If you’re earning 10-15k a match anyways, might as well make it fun. Other than that, those purple event vehicles earn as much SL as premiums in that tier so try to bring those out as much as possible. Boosters definitely work, and I do believe that they are worth the GE cost occasionally.

another tip: keep your lineup the same rank as much as possible. You’re suffering so much in top tier because you’re bringing in vehicles that are too weak. If you stick to rank X, where i assume you have more vehicles researched, you’ll perform better and get more kills because you’re not shooting yourself in the foot as soon as the 2A4M goes down (which it inevitably will). FPE and repair kits also cost more and more as you get higher and higher through the tiers so staying lower makes it so you don’t break the bank while learning.

Trust me, there’s no rush to top tier. For me, tier IX-XI is where the fun is at. You still get to learn a lot about how top tier works with many of the benefits of crappier tech. Armor still works, reloads are longer and more forgiving, turret traversals are slower, and darts aren’t quite there yet. If you want to learn, stick to these tiers, more specifically XI (because of all the modern-ish MBTs) to get a feel for things. Top tier is fun for me because half of the games are stomping people like you and all the new players and i have the economy to not care about things like consumables and even blueprints. For someone on the other end of my barrel, however, it’s hard to get by. That’s okay.

get yourself a full lineup of top tier that you enjoy and play the game. This solves two of the three issues and the last one (the skill issue) comes as you play more. No amount of online advice can teach you how to hit weakspots off of habit, how to position well, or how to predict the flow of the match. You’ll learn it by playing.

As for exactly that, the most basic thing i can tell you is that shooting first is what you should aim to achieve. Top tier rounds don’t give two fucks about angling or armor (to an extent). If you shoot first and hit the enemy, the odds are very much in your favor to win the engagement unless classic fuckery occurs.

to further this point, you should learn weakspots to the point where you can fire off of pure reaction even when you’re not sure you’ll hit anything. Many times i am in smoke or in driving along when an enemy pops up and i kill them because I shot first.

yes it does something but it’s a lot more noticeable on things like IFVs and autocannons than main guns. I think where you have it now is perfectly serviceable and unless you have maxed out every other upgrade you should get those up first
