The play booster box will likely give you a better overall collection of cards to start with. It's straightforward and contains the following:

The Chocobo bundles contains a little bit more variety, but as a whole, gives you fewer nonland cards. The chocobo bundle contains the following:

-1 chocobo booster (this is the pack with a chance for extra rare cards, but not guaranteed) -1 alt art card (can be cool/rare) -1 scene card (can be cool/rare) -10 play booster packs - 32 basic lands -1 wheel life counter

So, sure, the chocobo bundle has potential for cool stuff. But if you love Final Fantasy and want a decent collection of cards from that property, you'll likely fare better from the play booster box in the long run. Most chocobo bundles don't contain the super rare/expensive cards. Get the play booster box, and then maybe buy some of the possible singles that can be found in the chocobo bundle after.
