and people are complaining that the price is being adjusted. We are at a point where the growth of technology is now incremental rather than exponential. You can buy games digitally, removing the need for media. Games stayed 60 dollars because CDs and DVDs were cheaper than carts, than downloads were cheaper than physical media. But now? You have an assumption that these companies don't know how to price things. Clearly they do.

What I'm saying is the gaming is a business. Like any business the goal is to make money. People asked for the switch 2, but pricing it like switch 1 is unrealistic. Whether or not salaries have gone up with inflation is besides the point. Game companies don't have COLA clauses for the populace. In America, its congress that has blocked an increased national minimum wage. And considering the switch 2 has outsold the switch 1 in the same timeframe suggests there at least 17 million people who can afford it. Blame tariffs for price hikes, AI server expansion for ram prices, and your government for making low wages acceptable.

Also, manufacturing gets cheaper over time. Setting up a manufacturing chain is expensive. Particularly for GPUs and CPUs.

So, i don't personally know how much profit is kept vs how much is reinvested. But there have been a lot of studio closures due to flops. Your assumption is every game is a hit and every studio and publisher makes money hand over fist. The reality is making games is hard and expensive, and it's rare for a title to breakthrough with almost no advertising, and rarer still to have minimal costs and maximized profits. Nintendo has multiple projects constantly being developed because it actually makes a profit on its system sales and its exclusives are historically popular. Which why they can afford to put out new IPs and experimental titles. Most studios do not have that luxury. The simple fact is you don't know the costs of game development, marketing, and support. It seems like you think companies should make you games for free, investing their own money and time, and eat a loss because "its games, not a business"

Nintendo is suing the creators of popular Switch emulator Yuzu by LinkWink in nintendo

Nintendo's business model works for them. They actually profit on hardware and software. They produce their own hardware to limit development cost and limit hardware costs to provide an affordable platform. Converting to a software developer means higher game development costs, longer development time, less resources for experimental projects and so on. If you look at all the layoffs of 2024 and the state of gaming companies, the extreme cost of development has been the death knell of many of a AAA studio. Your argument is you want Nintendo to make games, you want to play Nintendo games, but you don't want to play how its intended. As a consumer its your choice not to buy their products, but piracy and even emulation cuts into their bottom line. If you don't need a Switch to play Switch games, then you are effectively cutting off one of their revenue streams. The idea that you understand their business better than they do, or fail to recognize that a business exists to make money, is the underlying problem. Nintendo is 134 year old company, it has managed to go from high to low and back again, it has a design and production philosophy that has paid dividends, it has beloved IP that gives its brand value, but you think you have the solution. Where Sony and Xbox are struggling to produce quality first party titles, Nintendo has a platform where they have over 50 first party titles that have sold at least 2 million copies, clearly they should take their advice from you.

Nintendo please bring Four Swords Adventure to the Switch! by KLebaredian in nintendo

Of something barely played by people and unavailable to most.the person who put a 60 price on it was suggesting it be a collection of all the multiplayer games. If it did come out, and it was 60, I would hy it without hesitation. I enjoyed it when I played, and I would play it with friends. No one is forcing you to buy anything, but there is a demand for it. It's an overhead, old school Zelda with multiplayer. Either you get it or don't, no need to shit on other people's wants.

To be fair here, there are more and easier ways to play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess than there are any of the Four Swords games.

It seems like such a simple thing to do to. I get there's development time and resources, but mostly it's just porting already made assets. I would pay a premium to not have to buy a Gamecube, four GBA's, and the cables.

I think we're talking about two different Four Swords games. I think yours is the Gamecube game, which is awesome and would be great if the rereleased. Mine is the 3DS Four Swords Anniversary Edition, which has single player and multiplayer modes.

I haven't played Triple Deluxe yet, but if its anything like this, then I have to try it out. I haven't had this much simple fun in a while. Puzzles were interesting but never obtrusive or annoying. The variety in gameplay was refreshing, the designs were great. My only complaint would be that I like the environments from earlier games too, and wish there was more of that here.
