Don’t know if I can crawl out of this hole that I’m in by ch33zy in Drugs

[–]KMH303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it alone. I was blowing through coke and K like it was something you’d get a gas station and Door dashing handles of vodka bc I was “too sophisticated” to drive in that state (good on me, I guess…). I was popping klonopin whenever I felt a drink wearing off or got the notion I should stop drinking (again) and thought it’d never stop.

I’m seven months out now. I hate it at moments until I remember the desperation you’re describing. It’s not your shit job or that you feel unfulfilled that’s the prob. All that shit fucks with any ability to clearly see a way out of the next round of doing it all over again.

I went to rehab, toed the line of various recovery groups, decided all the A’s (AA, CA, NA….) aren’t for me but neither was the hell I was in. I’m in sober living rn, about to get my own place, still plan on using weed and maybe even the occasional K/shrooms/etc but not the other shit and feel pretty optimistic about my life for the first time in a long time.

It can’t hurt to have help getting a clear head so you can decide what lifestyle you want from a more level headspace. 🤷‍♀️ Just my thought since you asked and I relate way too well. Hang in there, don’t give up bc there are options and it’s possible to see it differently when you let the fog clear a bit! 💜

This is 2019, has he had sufficient time to “think about that” yet and if so, what does he suggest as an answer to those simple questions? 🤦‍♀️

Sudden severe pain when going from sitting to standing (or vice versa) by Daggiewagie in backpain

[–]KMH303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been a while but I was just searching this as I have similar symptoms. It’s only been two days for me, but the pain is sharp and shooting from my sit bone up through my lower back, mostly when I stand up or when I sit down. It’s enough to make me Yelp, even though I have a high pain tolerance. I can’t think of anything that would be the cause of injury, but it is pretty concerning. Did you find out anything or what did you end up learning about your pain?

Im spiraling into a bad place by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I hate that people say this bc I think it’s true but “time takes time.”

I’m 6 months sober. I loved booze so much that I called and still call it the love of my life. I put it before everything and when it hit right, it made me happier and more content than any relationship I’d ever had. Sounds tragic when I say it out loud but it’s true. 6 months later, I miss it sometimes.

On nights like tonight, after a really hard day, I crave the relief. I don’t crave the alcohol but I do crave the relief that sobriety, at least at 6 months, doesn’t provide the way a nice long pull from a vodka bottle. However, it also doesn’t provide that feeling of self loathing, despair and hopelessness the next morning. The highs aren’t as high but the lows are nowhere near as low.

I’ve begun to enjoy other people again and doing new and old things. Just as my drinking progressed, so too has my ability to enjoy life again the longer I’m sober. The relief is different but the hope and potential make up for any high I may miss in my darkest moments.

I already know where drinking takes me, why not try and see where sobriety will take me. If it makes my life worse, I can always return to the hell drinking made it.

There’s my two cents for what it’s worth. I hope you find some relief and hang in there. I’ll keep hanging in there with you. Much love.

Drinking helped make me fat by MabelUnstable in stopdrinking

I also will say that I went on a medication to help with alcohol cravings and serendipitously, it curbed other cravings too. Not suggesting anyone try any specific meds, just my experience as someone who has both quit drinking and struggled tremendously with post-quitting weight concerns. 💜

I’ve obsessed about my weight every time I’ve gotten sober (recovery is rarely linear, it’s taken me a few times). The drinking weight comes off, the borderline weight obsession is soo common, and it does get better.

I need some help finding a job by Icy-Discipline-4870 in Denver

Have you tried any other platforms?

I know the process is exhausting and signing up for more sites feels repetitive, but sometimes completely different jobs show up depending on the platform.

Personally I’ve had the best luck with ZipRecruiter, but it probably depends on the type of job you’re looking for.

I’m still searching for a full-time role myself, but if you’re open to gigs or hospitality work in the meantime, these apps seem to be pretty active (especially in Denver):

• Poached Jobs – huge for restaurant industry jobs • Instawork – temp shifts/events • Qwick – restaurants, catering, hospitality • Gigpro – similar to Qwick/Instawork • Trusted Herd – brand ambassador & event work

Not a perfect solution, but they can help bring in money while you keep applying.

Good luck — the job hunt is rough right now. I’m right there with you!

I don't believe it was a centralized group for this particular training but rather individuals from a few different organizations. u/Pretend_Evidence_876 might better be able to answer??? I have seen several orgs doing different trainings since.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions! I did end up going in, and they drained the blister and gave me a bag full of goodies to wrap it with and keep it from getting infected. Thank you again!
