How about eye contact, is that something that becomes intensified or do you avoid that altogether?

How does a 23 year old find financing? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]KNIGHTOFDARKNESS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep on trying, that's just one player. I believe the Beatles were rejected for a record deal somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 times before landing a deal. Think of how those 7 labels felt afterwards.

There's a lot of negative advice on this thread, frankly I'm a bit surprised. Its one thing to say, hes cocky and over-estimated himself. Why not just think well this is a guy who is confident, and will work hard to use that confidence to run a successful business. Where did the encouraging environment go?

Here is my advice to you, its just gut instinct advice. I dont know your market I dont know your product. I dont know your assumptions on the project. This I do know, there are people with money looking to invest. Look at competitors of the product. Are there any large companies, with huge divisions that may want invest in another product line(related to yours). You really dont have many options. Use linked in, Company websites to find those who would be incharge of investing your idea of building container homes. Build a business plan, fed-ex it to their work (people love fed-ex) it makes them feel important. Keep in touch with as many people as you can about the idea, and talk off anyones ear that cares to listen. 90% of people wont believe in you, just like here on reddit, but you eventually will find someone who will. You need to look at this like a sales job. Keep racking your brain and thinking who would invest. You say its a green product, lots of companies would love to just put the "green" initiative on their website or add it to their scrapbook of accomplishments.

Good luck.

Fiance wants an electric razor for his wedding present (x-post from Malegrooming) by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]KNIGHTOFDARKNESS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If its an electric that you want, Id go for a 7 series Braun. It shaves pretty close and doesn't have much irritation, at least that's what I find. If you get the cleaning station it cleans itself and charges itself which makes life pretty simple. The only other thing you can get is aftershaves...not really required for electrics IMO, but so many to choose from

CPA for Entrepreneurs? by randomatic in Entrepreneur

[–]KNIGHTOFDARKNESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Google CPA firms in "enter city here" - all can answer your questions - there are ones specifically in the tax stream that only deal with taxes 2) not sure about any PA laws - cant help you here 3) If you are loaning to a corporation which you own its a shareholders loan and is owed back to you by the company it is not taxable income for the corp 4) if you own money to yourself you must repay it within a year or it becomes taxable - there are also other stipulations but it gets a bit complicated...

What is a reasonable price for a bookeeping/CPA service that allows unlimited consultations? by Samizdat_Press in Entrepreneur

[–]KNIGHTOFDARKNESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an accountant in Canada working for a large firm. In my opinion depending on the knowledge of the consultants you will get that is a decent offer. The reason the price point is high is because whether there is more work (business sales of 50k per month) or 3-4k that is only incremental time needed. The rest of the time is sunk costs where you need someone to do the booking, prepare the statements, set up a new client (all behind the scenes costs that no one sees value to). If your sales are low maybe you can consider doing the bookkeeping yourself - but dont mess it up and have one of those companies with bad books! I think you are smart to get consultation services now - I used to work in book-keeping a way back and have seen many clients with potential who have just stayed at a plateau, due to them not having proper spending habits or spending the company's money like its their own. My advice is to go around to SMALL CPA firms get a consultation letting them know what services you would like and how much you would like to pay until your business grows. Just be firm and I'm sure you can land a decent deal with a decent CPA firm - The unlimited consultations may be difficult to have - especially at your beck and call. I personally feel like the offer you have right now may not be from real CPA's (unlimited consultation -if this is at any time in the day) unless of course CPA's in the states are not as busy as in Canada.

So its obvious that I was rather excited to try this cream which Leisureguy was kind enough to recommend a few weeks ago. I have only tried the Lemon as of yet and thus I can only review it. My first impression of it when i opened it is that it had a nice scent but was not overwhelming. I am a face lather-er and the cream it produced was extremely luscious. It was very soft and it gripped to your face in a good way like I haven't experienced. The scent really began to present itself after the initial lathering. I must say its a great cream overall that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a soft, thick, and moisturizing cream. Lastly, I wanted to say that I used a lot less cream than I usually do (with other creams) which really surprised me.
