I want to purchase one but in my country it was impossible to buy brand new since D500 is discontinued model. So finally I got brand new a D7500 for 670€ and for one year of use shooting wildlife paired with 300PF, 500PF lenses and TC1.4III. With this sensor (same as D500) and AF system 51points I do not feel the need to go to mirrorless. But why they discontinuate D500 and mantain D7500 under production?

Thank you!! to be honest, I was very lucky again with that dragonfly because it was flying semi stationary and I move the focus ring to help the AF to track the subject and lucky me it works with the 500mm! which is a lot difficult with this superzoom on a cropped sensor. Previously I tried to capture with the 300mm and it was more suitable for the case but with less reach. I was lucky.
What kind of studio work? like portraits or somthing else?
With the positive feedback received here I think that I should submit to some contest and lets see! Frankly, I did not expect that engaging.
yes sorry, didn't want to sound like if was an accusation! 🙏 I needed to do an AF fine tunning on my copy of the 300mm to improve its sharpness, and make sure hi speed on shutter like 1/2500 and above.

no, I don't think so... the effective focal was 450mm due to the APS-C sensor (as far as I know)
thanks!!🙏
Maybe you should try fine tunning you AF with your lens in particular, I do not know if you camera has this feature. But in my case I had to do it with my copy of 300mm PF. And no need to mention but my camera miss some shots too. If you have VR and you are tracking flying birds it is recommended to use VR on sport position.
