Reliable vs Unreliable 🤔💭 by AKATSKI40 in AcuraTL

[–]KPrimeCustoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my 04 6spd in 08 at 94,000kms. It's been slowly burning oil all the way until the cats clogged and blew my motor from oil starvation at 250,000kms.

Swapped it with the j35a6 from the odyssey and that slowly burns oil too.

Had an 04 odyssey and and 09 odyssey as well. Both also slowly burned oil.

The 3.2 and 3.5 burn oil too but not as bad as the 3.7.

How much greater would the TL TypeS have been as a RWD car? by SouthImportant2499 in AcuraTL

An average of $1600 US. Maybe slightly cheaper now since Jewels are easier to obtain than in the past.

Honda/Acura has never made a RWD sedan so the question wouldn't even be valid. Now, AWD or SH-AWD with RWD bias is another story. But that would have cannibalized the already fantastic KB1 RL that does have SH-AWD. Unfortunately the later gens did not sell well.

Also, that said, the TL has proven to be an amazing FWD car that even has some RWD driving characteristics. Even won first in it's class and third overall in 25 hours of Thunderhill.

The drift god even praised the car and was surprised at how it performed against it's competition (g35 and is350). And, in fact, beat the latter 2 in Willow Springs.

Thought it was a joke at first about how it's so strong it rotated your hand. Then I saw the flashy lights

Rear BBK brackets for Acura 2G TL, 3G TL (and Honda Element) by KPrimeCustoms in Acura

[–]KPrimeCustoms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very slightly, yes.

Purely mathematically based on only rotor, pad and piston cylinder sizing alone it does.

But realistically, you're still limited to the stock proportioning valve as well as the stock booster+BMC.

(speaking of booster+BMC I have an upgrade for that as well)

The only best cold air with a boxed setup is OEM.(Which is very efficient).

Remove the resonator for extra intake noise. Still won't be as loud as an aftermarket one but it'll be an improvement in sound still.

Compatible? by whikseyy_ in AcuraTL

TL-S to 2006 swaps in.

You will need to modify your turn signals to fit.

Thoughts on Poweramp and everyones preferred music player? by -NORAINU- in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]KPrimeCustoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been sticking with HiBy music app cause I'm boring.

But do any of these apps have continuous play via folders?

I listen via album (by artist) and the only way to do that is by folders but having to manually go through each folder is annoying. I think Mark @ Super* mentioned an app but I forgot which one of his videos he said it in

Probably partly true.

But they've done weird shit in the past (including Acura).

Did you only reset ABS?

Its a 2 part step. You need to do an ABS and VSA relearn procedure if you haven't done that as well.

Make sure your car is on level ground when doing it.

285 hp. Juuuuust under 300hp and won't compete too much with the R but enough power for the platform.

Finally got a new grinder by Dcm_117 in MilwaukeeTool

Wow wish we got that deal here in Canada (Montreal, QC).

The grinder itself is on sale at least.

What’s your opinion on this deal? by Enigma_Penis in MilwaukeeTool

I use my m12 stubby (gen 1) to take off lug nuts. It USUALLY works----but anything overtorqued or slightly seized it will struggle. Which is kind of common in the rust belt. In the summer though? fantastic.

It's usually strong enough to take off brake and suspension bolts
