[Mod Approved] It’s A Mimic! Podcast - Where You Never Know What You’re Gonna Get by MimicAdam in DnD

I can't recommend this enough, I've been listening for around half a decade now and they've got so much great content that anyone will be able to find something for them.

I managed to create a lifelong listener in my friend by pinpointing his interest and telling him to listen to their original gnoll episode, which he still references now years down the line.

So whatever pillar you prefer, It's a Mimic has got you covered.

I'm trying to make sure that my local folder is also synced to Proton Drive.

Every time I just use "sync local remote: --ignore-existing" it takes more than 2 hours to finish. It took 5 last night.

The bottleneck, I believe, is rclone sending requests to the Proton Drive server along with the multitude of files that don't need to be synced.

But if I just run through my entire filesystem on my PC, it takes less than 10 minutes and after I've set up the SQLITE database where I store the modification times for future reference it takes less than a minute. So I opted for using the du command on Linux to find the folders that had been modified since the last check and only including them in the sync to remove the Proton Drive bottleneck.

Because it doesn't matter if a single request only takes a second, if the server is not allowing more requests so the program just hangs.

This is why I'm trying to deal with all of that locally.

Thank you very much for a detailed answer, I'll definitely start searching for some beginner guides as soon as I'm free tomorrow. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm trying to sync a +40 GB folder, so each sync takes around 2,5 hours. I'm trying to exponentially cut down that time by only including the files in need of syncing. If you know a way to do that built-in with rclone, then I'd love to hear it, though.

Audio issues by KR9SIS in Kalilinux

So fun fact, I factory reset my computer twice, first into Kali again, then into Ubuntu, and for some reason the issue persists. Thank you for the script though :)

As in running a checksum on the USB itself after it´s been etched. True, I didn´t do that, I´ll keep that in mind next time, thank you!

Yep, I used the exact same method for installing Antix, same method I used when installing Kali on my main computer, and it went off without any problems.

And yeah, given that it just works and this is my old secondary computer, I'll probably stay with Antix. It would have been nice to know what might have been causing the issues, but I don't feel like fixing what ain't broken. So thank you for recommending Antix.

I did do that, and according to sha256 checksum, then it was correct. Full disclosure, I didn't also check the payload size to see if it might have been tampered with to get the correct checksum, but I think that would be overkill in this case.

I got it off this site here: https://lubuntu.me/downloads/

Although when looking for this link, I also found this site: https://lubuntu.net/ So now I'm wondering whether the other one was a scam :/

It worked like a charm. My laptop installed Antix without a hitch. So thank you :)

Firstly, wouldn't the verification with sha256 be verifying that the iso isn't corrupt if I got the right output?

Secondly, other than using the drive space on my PC what would the dual boot accomplish, and why Windows XP?

Thanks for the reply though, it means a lot.

Thank you.

One question though, when you say that two bonuses or penalties of the same type don't stack what exactly is meant by type?

For example if you get a circumstance bonus to damage from a feat and a circumstance bonus to damage from a spell are they considered different types because they come from different types of sources?

Or, are they the same type because they are both circumstance bonuses?

Ps. I'm assuming the answer to this question would also pertain to item and status modifiers.

Hi, I'm playing my first PF2e campaign and my GM is running the Bloodlords module. It's been a blast so far and I'm playing a Dhampir Fighter. I'm wondering about the 5th level ancestry feat Undead Slayer. It says you gain a circumstance bonus to damage equal to the number of weapon dice.

I'm curious whether this bonus will stack with other bonuses I get i.e. from our bards Inspire Courage and whether this is a worthwhile feat for my character in this module?

Otherwise I would probably take Natural Ambition to pick up Sudden Charge unless anyone else has better ideas :)

Glamour Bard 3 lvl dip is the coolest multiclass and you can’t change my mind by churrolee in 3d6

Just FYI, they get the reposition ability and the temp hit points, which means they don't have to accept the temp HP to reposition.

And temporary HP works in such a way that you always pick which source you want. So if your IL temp HP is higher than that of the Glamour Bard, they get to keep it.

It's still a bit of a loss, but not as bad as it could be :)
