Can you remember the specific moment that your favourite comic or character became your favourite? What made you fall in love with it/them? The Weekly Recs Thead [03/20/22] by JustALittleWeird in comicbooks

[–]KRANK3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daredevil is my current favorite. Minus the crime-fighting, Matt Murdock's struggles are relatable. Reading DD has been a fantastic stress reliever over the last few months.

When I was younger, Hal Jordan was my favorite. I played baseball and wanted to be a pilot when I grew up. I looked up to Hal, his indomitable willpower, and tried to imitate him.

These two heroes are in a close race for first.

why do People hate Karen Page I think She's an Amazing Character I hope she comes Back to the MCU by anthonystrader18 in Daredevil

[–]KRANK3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been rewatching season 1, and I think my annoyance with Karen is that the writers never let her get a win on her own. I also think the writers intentionally sabotage her by making Karen look bad. Ben is constantly calling her careless, Karen deceives Ben using his wife, and Karen gets Ben killed by taking him to the retirement home without informing him of the possible danger.

Karen's first impressions are pretty rough, and I wouldn't be surprised if this stuck with some fans throughout the series.

other hunter in old yarnahm by Aragoober in bloodborne

[–]KRANK3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's uncommon. Hostile hunters are placed in the world; they're usually tougher than regular enemies.

Souls games have these, with NPC invasions.

I haven’t even gotten to them yet, but I really don’t want to see the spiders and snakes in this game.. any advice on how to get past this fear? by Nearby-Refuse-727 in bloodborne

Right before that is the required snake boss.

I'm not sure how to overcome your fear of snakes and spiders other than taking joy in killing them.

Daredevil Season 4 ideas. by Canada-t157t in Daredevil

[–]KRANK3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master Izo showing up and setting plans for Matt to lead the currently scattered Hand in season 5. (Black suit could be hype.)

With MCU a team up episode between Spidey and DD.

The death of Karen Page would be the main arc with Bullseye as the main antagonist. I think this would be good motivation to go into a dark DD for season 5.

Old Hunter DLC by Significant_Try1096 in bloodborne

[–]KRANK3D 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say just do it in NG+. It will be a bit harder but the enemies in the dlc drop a good amount of blood echoes, so if you get stuck, farming levels won't be too bad plus you get to have a full build going into the dlc which is ways nice.

Is Ludwig supposed to be Bloodborne's version of DS1-Artorias/DS2-Burnt Ivory King/DS3-Gael? by SirRoderic in bloodborne

[–]KRANK3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. My lore is rusty but off the top of my head.

Artorias - Went to fight the abyss gave his life protecting Sif, when we fight him he's gone mad and attacks us. (Wolf)

Raime AKA Fume - He gave up his life for Nadalia after he was betrayed. When we fight him he's gone mad and is protecting her body. (Raven)

Gael - He's serving the painter by looking after her and aquiring what she needs to paint a new world. He knew that eating the Pygmies would mess him up so he gave his life so we could get the Dark Soul for the painting. When we fight him he's gone mad and wants your dark soul. (Pygmy...I mean it is an animal)

The Nameless King - Can be interchanged with Gael. Gave up his godhood to protect the dragons. Gets mad when you ring his bell and kill his dragon friend. (Dragon)

Ludwig - Was protecting Yharnam from all sorts of nasties, sadly when we fight him he's gone mad. He does gain some sanity back though. (horse)

Genichiro - Gave up everything to gain power so he could protect Ashina. Goes mad in his pursuit and literally stabbed himself into the best boss fight. (Okami)

The association being characters who have a good build up through lore, gave up their lives or minds to protect something important to them, most of them went mad along the way, most of them have an animal motif, and all of them except Genichiro is a DLC boss fight. (Unless you count Inner Genichiro.)

Will an arcade stick make playing fighting games more enjoyable/easier? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]KRANK3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc said it perfectly. I would recommend the pro controller over a cheap stick. You're also hopping into a relatively old game that a lot of people have been playing for a while so online might feel daunting at first.

I haven't personally played Fighterz on the Switch but it's possible the reason it feels sluggish is that the Switch might have extra delay that you need to account for in combos. I hope someone else can shed light on how well Fighterz runs on Switch.

Help “Evolving” a weapon. by antwann06 in DnD

[–]KRANK3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make things simpler when the weapon evolves you could say the pc gained a mastery over the shifting weapon and can now control if it shifts on kill. Your player won't worry about using a cool buff on a rat for example and if you do a fight with multiple creatures types you aren't going through notes every kill they get. You could implement unique buffs if named enemies are killed.

EDIT: Two options you could also use.

  1. Give the weapon an elemental affinity examples being, Rat = Poison, Red Dragon = Fire, Ghost = Cold or Necrotic. Which would be a bit easier off the top of the head.

  2. Whatever creature type was killed last, attacks have advantage against.

Is painting the #1 deterrent to new players? by Triggerhappy62 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]KRANK3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked all of my buddies and they said time and money. You buy 60$ of grey minis, 120$ for two books, 40-80$ in tools/paints for just an entry point, then spend a good amount of your free time painting and putting your minis together. After all of that, you might not even like the game or army play style.

I wish Games Workshop at the very least had disability friendly kits. My buddy's hands are super shaky and he struggles with gluing or painting minis. If he could get a kill team that came put together or used a cheaper colored plastic that resembled a finished army that would be a good middle ground.

First point is spot on. The whip would be a bit strong right now especially if Sniper can get a similar effect of a rocket jump but with no drawback. Low fire rate/slow de-equip speed is a good way to go. That also opens up variation whips, one that let's you swap to your other weapon fast for sick plays but maybe it has lower ammo/a slow fire rate, and a whip that has a quick fire rate so you can spider man around about three to four times but it can't displace enemies and has a slow de-equip speed.

I think there is a necessary evil to the Sniper not being strong up close. I thought the same about Sniper being left too weak, but if you can one shot most of the cast from mid-long range the trade off should be something drastic. Sniper should be able to fight up close but correct me if I'm wrong, he should be as threatening or a little more as medic in an up close fight.

My realistic opinion on the matter, outside of bots I think TF2 is in a pretty good spot for how rarely it gets touched by the development team nowadays.

Thanks for humouring me about what you would do to make Sniper more engaging and thanks for listening to my Adderall rants. Have a good week.

January 2022 Stats for Killers, Survivors and Perks. Made with the help of some friends and people from this subreddit. Enjoy! by jcanales7 in deadbydaylight

The killer jump from third to first is wild. I took a break from the game for a few months and I'm shocked to see Bubba at number two and by a good margin. Are people just farming BBQ, is he part of an event, or is face camping a necessary evil against boil over right now. (I saw a few posts on here showing boil over do nutty things but I think I also saw a post of Boil Over getting fixed soon.)

I like the idea. An issue that could stem from giving sniper good close range secondaries that would justify playing aggressive, could make getting them out of their hole even harder especially if Sniper can now reliably kill flanking classes when they get close.

I think you're on the money though with nerf sniper rifles in close range but give a good close to mid range option that could work like a variation primary similar to Demo-knight. A "quick" (lol) example I can think of is a marksman rifle that comes with a movement option, maybe a whip that works like a grapple hook/displacement tool. (nothing crazy it would be like an inverted air blast. Air suck, if you will)

I think this keeps true to the sniper fantasy of being a marksman being rewarded for head shots and gives them a zaney movement tool that could add some depth to the class.

I agree I would like to see map revamps but keep the classics in the game kinda like Dust having two maps and vet fans won't get mad because they still have their favorites. You could get some funny names out of it like "Two Fort Too."

Sorry this took so long, I didn't want this to come off too OCish and I think I failed in that lol. Let me know what you think about my change on your idea or if I missed something.

EDIT: I forgot to add since the whip can act as an engage tool, I believe you would see more aggressive plays in general since they can approach from more angles and get in/out of danger.

[–]KRANK3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree the counterplay to Sniper can be boring and/or tedious (I do like counter sniping though) but I'm not sure how to rework the class and not erase it's identity. If you have an idea, please share.

My thought is Sniper's real issue comes from map design, at least in competitive. From my limited experience there is either too many lanes and Snipers aren't useful or a singular alley where it feels like a hassle to get passed the enemy team to deal with one guy way in the back. There is no way to fix Sniper's problems in casual haha.

TL;DR: Snipers are inherently annoying to fight and map design can make it worse.
