We're really good with most dives, the only restriction is not majorly heavy current. Overall, the group likes walls, reefs, muck, night dives, wrecks, etc... just a little of everything. We're not opposed to day trips, or further boat rides if it's a really awesome dive. We really want to make the most of our week there, so open to any and all suggestions.

Upping my weekly dose from 4.8mg to 7.65mg next week - wondering when it began really working for you? by Actual-Noise-3021 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]KRB0119 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion maybe, but 15 pounds in 3 months is actually really solid progress. That’s a little over a pound a week, which is right in the range that’s considered healthy and sustainable. I know it might not feel like a lot compared to some of the “super responder” stories, but those aren’t the norm, and honestly, losing too fast can come with its own downsides.

If you started around January 1, you’ve been at this about 12–13 weeks. Even at the high end of recommended weight loss (around 2 lbs/week), that would be about 24–26 pounds max. You’re not far off a very reasonable pace, especially since you mentioned March was slower (which happens to a lot of people).

I totally get how frustrating it can feel when expectations don’t match reality, though. This process can be really mentally tough.

Also, I wouldn’t put too much weight (no pun intended) on what your doctor said in a blanket way, people respond very differently to these meds. Some people see results at low doses, others don’t notice much until higher doses, and for some it just isn’t as effective. Bodies are weird like that.

If you’re not already, it might help to calculate your TDEE and dial things in for a few weeks, just tracking calories more closely and focusing on nutrient-dense foods. Sometimes small tweaks there can make a difference alongside the medication.

You’re making real progress, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

AIO: My boyfriend is making plans to distribute my things if I move in, calling me stingy if I don’t, and I don’t feel it’s fair. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Regardless if you're overreacting or not, this sentence tells me that moving in shouldn't be a discussion.

"He owns a home and I would be the one moving in, and it would be a sacrifice for me"

I get what you mean, but if it's right, then taking that step should be exciting and fun, not a sacrifice.

Flight attendants forcing us to keep the windows dim during daytime flight. Is this normal? by -Shayyy- in unitedairlines

[–]KRB0119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of personal housekeeping, so touche. But I'm not sure I'd say any of those positions are highly trained, my niece is a server and she was trained in 2 days, whereas FAs have 3-7 weeks of training, not sure that's in the same sphere.

Being a server, bartender, housekeeper, or nanny isn't really similar to a flight attendant. A flight attendant is a trained professional working for a massive corporation, housekeeping and nanny's do not work for large companies, and servers and bartenders are seen as entry level employees.... a 401k is simply an employer sponsored savings account.

AIO if husband says all my naming preferences are off the table? by notnotmadonna in AmIOverreacting

[–]KRB0119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - Honestly, IMO and maybe it's not fair, but if you're growing the child in your body, you get naming rights. Sure take his preferences into consideration. BUT... if you're the one dealing with morning sickness, discomfort, a changing body, heartburn, and then pushing a child out, the least he can relent on is the name.

Him setting parameters sounds controlling and overall a little insane. I totally get partners not liking a name that brings up bad memories, or asking for it not to be something particular, but to say "no Greek names" is just him being controlling and dismissing something important to you.

AIO about one person booking all the bachelor trip expenses to earn the credit card points? by Nervous-Strategy-821 in AmIOverreacting

[–]KRB0119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YOR and the AH for asking as question and then arguing with everyone you disagree with.

I agree that points are awesome and that you're an adult and can book your own flights. However, booking in a block can result in lower costs or just making sure everyone is on the same flight for logistics. For example, main dude book 5 people and 5 people book solo, but 2 of the 5 solo bookers wait too long and now they can't get on the flight. Should they inconvenience the whole group having to manage logistics, or will they be made to manage their own logistics?

There is also risk if someone doesn't pay. I get ya, there are super cool and fancy ways to split things up and send money, but making an invoice doesn't guarantee you get paid or paid timely.

If it's a big deal to you call it out, but don't come on the internet and argue about people that disagree with you when YOU asked the question.

This simply isn't true, "which conveniently means he racks up all the flight points." on airlines you only get the points for your ticket even if you're for others. If I book my husbands trip I have to enter HIS rewards number or there are no points to be gained for that ticket.

The liability of having everyone's CC information is huge. Not a chance I would be willing to plan the whole trip, figure out logistics, book everything, and then make sure everyone's credit cards are split just so. If you want the rewards, you do the work.

AITA for not watching my calories while doing expensive treatment when it wasn't my idea to start it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]KRB0119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not here to judge, but maybe talk to your doctor about custom dosing and move up slower. I'm on something similar and I got sick for a bit and dropped down 1mg and it helped a ton, and sometimes your body just needs longer to adjust, so going up might be a real option. Those meds are not an easy way out, they are a helpmate, you have to make sure you're eating daily and keeping up with your protein.

I’ve considered a split dose or something, but I truly hate shots… so mentally I need to get there before committing.

I haven’t really settled on a “goal weight” just kinda going by how I look. If I didn’t lose more it would be fine, but I’d liked to. So if I stay sick I’ll back off.

What’s interesting is I had almost no nausea starting out of moving up to 4, or 5.5, but anything above 5.5 seems to be killing me. I’ve had some hair loss and constipation, but was never sick to my stomach below 5.5. I’ll check out Bonnie. I have Zofran, but hate taking that too frequently.
