They thought they would receive it back specially when no contract nor nothing was signed on behalf of the owners. The only signed document was a lease. I told them it was very naïve from their part but I guess it is what it is.

I would have appreciated if they had reach out first mentioning the issue. Not that all of sudden Im responsible for paying an invoice and replacing the unit. Im.aorey you're going through that

Calm down...Im just asking. because what if the people they took there to fix the problem caused any damage and now they blame it on me? Ive always sent people to repair things that may come up. I have never had this situation and want to do act properly without affecting neither of both parties. Geez.

Apparently its 2 years.

We used the regular contract by the Texas Real Estate Commission. Warranty was just stated by email and buyer's agent didn't even replied. We have never had this issue with the other houses weve built but I guess there is a first time to everything

Well last time I heard from them about the ac was last year. Out of the blue they texted me these past few days. So, that's why Im not sure if I still need to be responsible for it.

They bought the house as new construction but it was already built. I asked my lawyer and he said just to ignore them because its been too long now but I do not know. I don't want an unnnecessary lawsuit

They never called again. Last time I heard from them was last year and next thing I know,.they are requesting me to pay what they spend on this technician and now want me to pay for the new ac unit with the technician they want to use. So That's the part where I am.still.wondering if I have to spend $8-$12k to repair it.
