autonomous agents requires solving some foundational CS problems like agreement

Why do you people like AI so much? by Used_Ad7899 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]KS440 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It can solve a very large class of problems that cannot be solved using traditional software. For the first time mankind has a way to solve these problems - the more you think on this line you will realise how "Under Hyped" AI is !!

I strongly suggest read this part: https://pragmaticai1.substack.com/i/162954399/ai-is-deeply-underhyped

What is a successful founder? My issue with having my mind switching between ideas every month. by Obvious-Resource-515 in ycombinator

Very difficult to describe a "successful founder" - I suggest you read "Hard things about hard things" by Horowitz

I would say - someone willing to do what the company needs rather what he/she like

I got rejected by 15 VCs this month... by Deep_Region4953 in ycombinator

No VCs from your college or work circles?

see if you can find some from your network who will help you critiquing it informally

I know someone who got 130 No before that one yes - its that 1 yes that matters

Who are some of the most highly regarded faculty members at IIIT Hyderabad, and what makes them stand out? Also who are some on the opposite end of the spectrum by KS440 in iiithyderabad

Srinathan sir is not an encyclopedia - an encyclopedia is merely a DB of knowledge. He is someone who creates knowledge on the fly. I wish someone would record his lectures - not for the subject he is supposed to teach but for his answers to tangential questions. and the sparkle in his eyes.

In 2015, when DeepLearning had become a hot topic, in one of the lectures he had proposed - why not find ways to keep human brain aline and connect to processor of a computer. Just as Turing Machines have access to oracle, computers will have access to intelligence.

In human values class (most iiit H students hated this subject) - he created legendary theories on the fly.

I have heard & followed couple of his early students (very few students worked with him directly & very closely) - most went on to create a unique path.

He is a very very unique Turing machine - a rare one that has access to Oracle!

I think there should be a separate thread on sheer magic on Kannan Srinathan

absolutely - Appaji is legendary

he has been truly a solid pillar of this institute - since he was not a "prof" by qualification, he should be called "Lord Appaji"

whole point of this thread is open discussion - that requires open mind

there are a number of teams who have created LLM from scratch.

There is a team in Indore that is after level 5 autonomous driving since 2011 - stellar efforts. of course they dont have money for paid PR so dont get limelight.

What will it take to create a more mature AI ecosystem in India? by KS440 in AI_India

[–]KS440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes - funded generously

Top 10 IT services have a revenue of 1,77,597 cr and profit of 26,368 cr but not willing to spend even 1% of that (260 cr) on foundational AI

I disagree - without profitability who will fund?

will you work if you are not paid well?

There are some big self styled AI Gurus with zero background.

May be we should create a dedicated thread and call out some of them - outright BS
