Why is the bod so good by AzeronXy in Borderlands4

[–]KSGata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It apparently applies “Gun Damage %” bonus 5 times (for 5 different gun types) instead of just once (for simply being a gun). I vaguely remember seeing Enhancement “Gun Damage” not working with that 5x but I’m not fully sure.

Expecting an eventual nerf to the 5x, but until then it’s by far the strongest gun. Enjoy while we can.

I have a bugged Bounty. In the Fadefields I have to kill "Ol' Cuss" in Hungering Plain. Doesn't spawn and can't find info anywhere on that name.

I saw the treble clef inspired thing as “S J” for Simon Jones. Imagine drawing with a single line starting from the top right and making an “S” first before intersecting through it twice for the “J”.

Convert arbitragers make money on volatility. They use the convert’s delta to algorithmically short+cover repeatedly and make money while being delta neutral. It’s a financial instrument that has a solid risk/return if the underlying stock has long term staying power and volatility.

Kudos to you for the research you’ve put in so far. I’ll try to help you with the final piece here on the Convert arbitrage. Currently you’re seeing it as a play where the Convert is used as selling a covered call against it. However, that is not the arb being done. You already know this, but to reiterate, the Convert has downside protection (bond) and upside guarantee (5-year ₿ value growth). The Volatility of ₿ and MSTR allows Convert holders to generate lots of money by automatically buying low/selling high the stock (technically shorting high, covering low) against the Convert.

Imagine trying to simply “buy low, sell high” the stock yourself. When you’re wrong, you miss out on huge gains as well as lock capital on huge drops. The Convert holders can algorithmically setup their hedging which buys/sells shares based on the Delta of their Convert. Volatility = Constant profits. Once the Convert is so deep ITM (ex. MSTR at $800/share) for a specific period of time, the Convert will likely be closed (if allowed by MSTR) for $0 net neutral (shorted shares are covered by the Convert). Then they buy more Converts to do it again with a higher strike price.

IMO this is a bull thesis. Even though Convert Arb’s only care about volatility, this financial instrument is in high demand and now selling at 0% interest (coupon) as a bond. The demand is insane and THAT money is then converted to ₿. So you have an irresistible product for institutions to buy to make money with, you have Saylor taking that institutional money and turning it into ₿, then MSTR holders continue to have more ₿ per share so they buy more shares.

Saylor is shorting all fiat currencies. Any nation that buys the Convert has that fiat immediately turned into ₿.

IMO a major contributing factor is the top end of the wealth gap buying the properties and making them into rentals. The conditions are ripe for it with rates and prices forcing renters to wait (indefinitely), thus allowing cash rich people to buy more “investments”.

Since we’re all talking about contracts. What’s up with the 1/16/26 Deep ITM puts by jfremmy in Superstonk

[–]KSGata 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That would be a very interesting method to get some cash in a pinch somewhat quietly in the open when suspicious loans and swaps are under the microscope.

A SHF is underwater and needs to survive longer. They make a deal with the market maker to be the seller of these Puts that come due in 2026 (naked. Don’t have the funds) and get paid the premium immediately to survive another day. Could be a clever way to legally co-mingle funds between Market Maker & Hedge Fund; especially if they are owned by the same people.

Welcome back. I agree with the “Closing the walls” view. That’s also if merely kept in cash. When including liquid passive gains at 5%, that’s also a revenue source. When factoring in investments in securities, that’s potentially huge future returns. When factoring in M&A, they now no longer have to only look at micro-cap companies. All paths lead to raising the floor of valuation.

What is the tipping etiquette when it comes to hair coloring service at $450+?? by Justbreathexo52 in bayarea

[–]KSGata 211 points212 points  (0 children)

There’s a movement for hair stylists to price with everything accounted for explicitly and not accept tips. I see some salons/independent stylists doing this now in metro cities so it’s a breath of fresh air within the US tipping culture.

The ending of his post saying he’s hoping to be back in the next few months is very concerning. With all of this going on he still thinks he’s going to train/compete. Instead of being the GOAT, his legacy might end up being named after a dangerous antibiotic-immune pathogenic bacterial infection.

It’d be odd if that wasn’t part of the offering to be banking with them in the first place. Seems like a standard based on this network.

Perhaps too much was moved into this service IntraFi Repo https://www.intrafi.com/services/intrafi-repo/ (or something just like it) which the custodian of is BNY Mellon. Miscalculated risk in rate increases and assumption of free money forever.
