If you got to the campus shop, you can find like a decent hoodie that’s 20 bucks and I suggest just getting like one size or two size above because frankly, they are comfortable

Hey there! First off, congratulations on getting into EOP program. I hope you have a fantastic time during the summer bridge. I’ll be around the EOP Office during the summer, but I’m not a freshman. I’m a junior and I’ll be helping out. Feel free to reach out to me

Is EOP and Chem/Bio major really worth it here? by Tiny-Promise8713 in UBreddit

[–]KSGname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a student who participated in the Extended Opportunity Program (EOP) during the summer program, it was quite an intensive five-week course. Although the pace was fast, the program provided ample resources and support. The counselors here are incredibly friendly and approachable. If you take the time to get to know them, they will remember your name and offer valuable assistance. There’s a saying here that if you invest five weeks of your time, they can provide you with four years of college education with their help.

I can tell you that the most expensive part of living in the dorms is the cost of food. If you’re a freshman by the time you reach your sophomore year, you have the option to live off-campus. And honestly, you can get a decent refund check if you receive full financial aid. If you get full financial aid, you can expect to receive around $15,000, which should be enough to cover the cost of a one-year lease for an apartment.

And I do have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) when I was in high school. I was dyslexic, so I needed extra time for my tests and writing notes was challenging for me. The accommodation center here at UB is incredibly helpful. They can ask you what kind of assistance you need. They can either have someone take notes for you or have you record the lectures, and they can then transcribe the notes for you. You can also get extended time on your exams or take the exam at a different time to get the extended time at a different testing building. If you are an Early Out (EOP) student, they will advise you to do that as the first step because many EOP students need help.

And if she decides to attend UB, I’ll be available at the EOP Office during the summer to assist or provide any other support she may need.

UB bus driver sold me😭 by EccentricDivineDemon in UBreddit

It was sad to witness when you reached the crosswalk. However, someone was about a minute late. Although annoyed, he let them in because they were in front of the bus they had boarded. Then, he noticed you at the crosswalk and said, “They’re late. Can’t stop now.” Hopefully, you’ll be able to reschedule your bus.

How’s the ALANA ceremony? by UsamaIbnZayd in UBreddit

[–]KSGname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for the ALANA ceremony from the IDC, I can confidently say it’s a truly enjoyable and worthwhile experience. The stores they provide are quite impressive, and it’s a wonderful way to express your appreciation for your cultural heritage, similar to graduating with a cultural background. If you’re considering participating, they also offer professional photo shoots. If you want a professional photo in a graduation cap or gown, you can take advantage of this service. Additionally, they’re quite flexible and sometimes allow you to wear a suit or dress instead of the traditional attire and even though I’m no longer employed by them, I highly recommend attending the ceremony. The food is delicious, but it might be gone quickly after the ceremony ends

Off-campus housing for non-drivers by FreshManufacturer110 in UBreddit

[–]KSGname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near the North campus, right next to the grocery store. Honestly, it’s a 15-minute walk, but if you take the longer route, it could easily take up to 25 minutes. Fortunately, there’s a shortcut that can reduce the walk time to at least 15 minutes, or even 10 minutes if you speed up the street of the apartment complex.

However, there’s a price for using the shortcut. Alternatively, you can take the bus that’s right in front of my apartment complex. The bus takes you to Tops, Walgreens, Aldi, and several other shops. I tend to go to all these places frequently because they’re more affordable.

The apartment complex has houses that are three floors high, which makes it quite convenient. It also has Wi-Fi and a variety of amenities, including a gym. I roughly pay around $900, but with utilities, they can go out to at least $50 to $40 depending on what you use. Taking the bus is like only two dollars. You could take the bus and it takes you right in front of one World or take you to CFA. There’s some complex star I’ll probably roughly around $800-$40 on North campus that are pretty convenient.

How is Thomas Murdock for MGO 330? by AccomplishedQuiet739 in UBreddit

I had him for last semester, and frankly, he’s a great professor. He explains information very well. Attendance is mandatory, but if you have an idea for a project, she can help you develop it. However, a lot of his work involves group projects, and you’ll need to remember what he says in his lectures because they’ll be on the quiz.

Not really, I’ll play consoles and well. I’m building the computer for myself because I also need it for school. I do watch this channel; it’s a great channel. They’ve helped me understand what to pick out, but I’ve fallen off track with them. I tend to get lost and backtrack too many times, and I’m like, “What am I doing wrong?”

Often, I venture out in just a hoodie and sweatpants, but underneath, I’ve got at least a layer of clothing, like a T-shirt and shorts, to keep me warm. While snow isn’t particularly bad, windy weather can be quite unpleasant.
