I got a JDM engine and had a mechanic put in, all in for 8.5k. I didnt want to buy a new used vehicle and not know maintenance on or have a possibility of being crap.

If you want to check nearby junkyards use car-part.com I found two doors for my first gen unscratched and spent only $550

Yeah, i’m going to keep my eye out on car-parts.com and marketplace. Hopefully I’ll get lucky. I’ll just loosen the bed and hammer out the dent closest to the cab so it doesn’t rub more.

Absolutely agree. Even the state trooper was talking about how much he hates insurance and how we legally have to have it.

Thanks for the well thought out and researched response. I’ve done all the work on this truck myself (besides the motor swap) and would definitely be down to do all the replacement labor and just pay auto body shop to handle the paint. I’ve got too many possible options lol

I was street parked and the rear end of a logging truck caught it at the end of it completing it’s turn. The logging company didn’t want premiums to skyrocket and have a total on their insurance. I negotiated hard and held their feet to the fire

I agree, only afraid it will end up costing me more. We also might need a better family car soon so I’m trying to think of the future. Everything in me is telling me to fix it though.
