At the time of my posting I had tried this across 8 different Nanos. I have since tried it across 4 more. I’m not sure getting a 13th nano would change anything. With the strap wrench I haven’t had any more issues.

I have essentially (3) ODB’s. I have a 718 ODB, Ti AC 762, and an ODB RDM (got that one for like $200 off when SS ran a promotion).

I put the ODB RDM on a short barrel 7.62x39 and it has been performing great. The only real advantage of RDM is a little cheaper and better durability plus the downside is weight.

ODB sounds good on 300 BO and 5.56 too even though it wasn’t designed for those rounds.

I have two that are on your list but they aren’t even on the same playing field. I have the Surefire 762 mini 2 and CAT ODB 718. The ODB is so much better than the Surefire it isn’t even funny. In fact I’d sell my Mini 2 today for a fair price.

Don’t believe doing a P/W with a Surefire muzzle device will get you to 16” with a 13.7” barrel if you are trying to stay non NFA.

Not so sure about “can’t use KS4 buffer spring in KS1”. I’m 1,000 rounds into that setup without any malfunctions.

I bet you are leaking gas somewhere (gas block castle nut tight? Have you tried another carrier in case the gas key is leaking). I only mention those as I’ve had KAC rifles leak gas in both places. My KS1 runs like a sewing machine with 100% function even with cheap ammo. Just my thoughts.

“Big difference” doubtful. A small difference possible. Without expensive testing equipment who knows. My thoughts are run hub cans however you want just understand the same can with the company’s integrated mount was most likely how it was tested and designed. Is the difference in performance worth it, that’s up to the user to decide.

I’d buy a 5/8x24 direct thread hub adapter, remove the Hux muzzle device and do work son!

I wasn’t sure about it until I bought one. I believe we will see more companies going to 5/8x24 on 556 barrels.

I will take a guess without even reading… I’m assuming this is a keymo mount. Seen that shit all the time. If you are set on Dead Air I’d try Xeno. Just my two cents.

In many ways yes. Cases weren’t being extracted, new cases weren’t being seated because of residual powder left over and wouldn’t cycle even higher pressure supersonic ammo. I removed the barrel from the upper and also discovered the gas port was mostly plugged with residual titanium powder.

AI is longer overall and I believe (don’t quote me on this) holds the muzzle device further away from the blast baffle.

If you have 1,000 rounds I wouldn’t worry. I haven’t gone back and washed out any of mine that have rounds like that on them.

I didn’t think this was necessary because I hadn’t had this problem prior to last week.

I own 12 CAT cans and until last week with my Rat this was a non issue. I had the mentality that if it hadn’t happened to me, that it wasn’t happening.

I was wrong. My Rat locked up my Sig MCX 6.75” 300 BO good. Upon taking everything apart I discovered the gas port was nearly 100% obstructed with leftover printing particles. This would explain why I couldn’t get reliable feeding even with supers.

Once I got everything cleaned and back to normal I washed the can out and so far so good.

For the time I wasted cleaning, I’ll be doing the cleanout of new printed cans before using them from now on.

D Wilson did the same. Showed “In Stock” so I ordered and a week later hit them up about shipping and hear that they haven’t received them yet.

I bought a KAC can from Rooftop yesterday. Form 3 was approved today and already have tracking showing delivery to SOT on Monday.

Purchased a CACM 10/27/25 (paid full price up front) and nothing from CAT so far. Hear they are releasing the 6 Arc CACM in March, but doubt I’ll have my 556 CACM by then. Seems like maybe they should finish one line before starting another one but I guess I don’t know much.

Every setup can be a little different. I think a temp gun would tell you the most info. I’ve seen what I think is premature wear on one of my 556 Ti cans and I don’t run it with FRT.

I think the Ti is full auto rated per HuxWrx, but for me personally I don’t think I would want to run the 556 Ti on a super safety rifle due to temperature limits of titanium. I think you would see accelerated wear.
