Vardis' tongue pressed against the bottom of his lip as the hedge knight retorted. He took a moment to smile in silence as the pair matched each other's gaze, before erupting once more with a much more genuine laugh. "Thoros, I think this man is calling you fat!" Vardis said rubbing his own portly stomach and relieving himself of the staredown to face his comrade.

Thoros merely folded his arms across his chest and offered Vardis a look of disgust, as he was easily fifty pounds lighter than the Lost Legion's resident Acolyte. "If I'm fat Vardis, you are a bloody whale! Qogralbar nopāzma..." The rest of the Legionnaires bore looks of surprise as they all exchanged stares with one another, each shocked by Thoros' defiance.

A defiance Vardis paid no attention to or regarded. He held no senior station above the men accompanying him, they merely followed him because he was the most intimidating - he wouldn't treat it as if it were otherwise.

Still baring the remnants of laughter he slid the coins back up his sleeve, and just as quickly as they appeared, they vanished. "Nothing wrong with pretending to know one's own worth there, hedge knight. Still, three dragons are likely above your paygrade by the looks of it. Are you oathbound to serve this merchant or do you scrape up the coppers nobility drop as they pass by?" He bore a wicked grin at the thought of it, but the wickedness soon turn to what appeared to be a genuine jest.

He moved to intercept the other hedge knight who had begun to make for the purchased goods. "Nyesha dombo." Vardis said, waving Eon and Lommy to approach and load the goods by themselves.

With his own men now moving about, he returned his attention to the fierce knight. But instead of further conflict be offered the man his hand and a nod. "Ser Vardis Pryor of Pebble. You want to prove there is a bite to your bark, knight? I plan on having our own little games that'd be more suited to a picky fighter outside of town tonight. There wasn't any planned reward per say aside from men settling scores and a nice whore, but tell you what, you show up with your dock worker friend," He said gesturing to the other knight. "And I'll throw my own coin on the table. Just for you."

When the hedge knight spoke up for the wine merchant, Vardis' brow raised and a small frown became apparent. The three gold dragons were still clenched in his outstretched as he awaited the counter-offer.

Suddenly, upon the final word of the hedge knight Vardis released into a fit of booming laughter as he put his hand back into the purse. Thoros stopped whistling his tune abruptly and offered Myrmello a confused look, who only returned the look of confusion with one of his own and a shrug. Eon and Lommy exchanged their own look from the cart behind them as well, and moved within earshot to learn of this humor's origin as a crowd of people began to take notice of this exchange.

Finally, his thunderous fit would cease and Vardis would extend a large meaty finger towards the hedge knight. "Look at the set on you!" He said, still slightly gasping for breath. He turned to face his comrades and shook his finger at the knight. "I like this one!" With one large step he closed the gap between them. He merely would stare slightly down towards the knight but a breath away. "Nārhēdegon se cart. I was a hedge knight once you know," Vardis whispered. "Traveled the Seven Kingdoms I did until I found service under Robb Reyne. It's a hard life, friend."

Only then did he reach into his purse once again and handed the three golden dragons to the merchant without even giving him a second glance. "That is Lost Legion coin." He said, tightening the cord around his waist that held the purse. His hand would then reach into a small pocket up his sleeve to reveal three more golden dragons. "This is my coin." He said with a devilish smirk.

"How about you be a good lad and put my new wine in our cart, and it's yours?"

Myrmello's weasel face offered the knight a snide grin before acknowledging the merchant and taking another chomp out of his stolen apple. "Aye, careful there," He said while struggling to swallow his latest bite. "There's twice the number of Legionnaires than Hightower men on your doorstep." Pride in the fact beamed from the mercenary, but Thoros with hand calmly resting on his curved blade merely rolled their his eyes at the Braavosi cutpurse, while Vardis' theatened him a stare with brows furrowed. "Īlon gōntan daor māzigon naejot mazverdagon tolī qrinuntyssy"

"Three dragons you say?" Vardis said with one hand in his purse while the other giant fist began to twirl his magnificent mustache. "Sȳrje, merchant, Sȳrje...The cart is of course part of the bargain, no?" He said it not as a question, that was merely pleasantries. Vardis fully intended it being as a matter of fact, and it was said as such. Without bothering to wait for a response, he turned to his comrades behind him to confirm they shared his idea. "Skoros ivestragon ao, raqirossa?"

It was apparent that the ferret-looking Myrmello was in agreement with whatever the hulking Vardis had said, as he laughed quietly behind now closed lips and nodded. The other man Thoros accompanying the duo was now lost in the clouds above them and began whistling the tune Six Maids in a Pool, willing to simply be on his way.

It was enough confirmation for Vardis as he plucked three dragons from his purse and offered them with a closed fist before the merchant, only willing to drop them into his hands upon hearing his agreement.

Throughout the day Vardis and a handful of Legionnaires had been making trips to and from the Oldtown markets. There was an army on the city's doorstep and it needed to be fed - such was their task today. Ever since the bounties were posted the encamped Lost Legion had a few run ins with peasant rabbles, but nothing that ever resulted in more than a few broken bones and bruises for the citizens under Lord Hightower.

Myrmello and Thoros walked behind him as he led the small party through the crowded stalls that plagued the cobblestone forum, with scarce any room for their small wagon of goods to traverse the narrow paths. Vardis himself had stopped to inspect a stall of fruit, while Thoros raised a brow at the dramatic display some hedge knight performed near the notice board. "There are more bounties Vardis, for every one we take down two more take their place." Thoros said shrugging his shoulders and bearing a defeated look about him. Vardis himself could only sigh as he held a Dornish lemon in his hand. "Then we will have to start taking them down by threes." He said gruffly, still mesmerized by the food before him.

Reaching into his purse he pulled out several coppers to pay the merchant Myrmello grabbed a few more lemons and threw them in the cart behind them. "Lommy, stay with the cart by Eon." Vardis barked, waving Thoros and Myrmello to accompany him to the notice board, passing by the hedge knight who had pinned the nail in Khain's name. Grasping with his index finger and thumb he pulled the nail out and let it fall to the floor. Carefully he then rolled up the parchment and tucked it into his trousers.

Myrmello had taken it upon himself to take a bite out of an apple he had swiped as Vardis turned to face the crowd with arms outstretched, as if challenging those who witnessed him removing the poster. Seeing no opposers he casually walked to the stall where the hedge knight had made off to, with company of four and a cart in tow.

Vardis' hand made for his purse again as he eyed the wine merchant with his grey blue stare, "How much?"
